Making wood, trunk texture tutorial part 1
by sculptor101
This is a simple tutorial of how to make wood, trunk texture in Super Sculpey, left to right, line down. Again, wish I have an extra hand to take pictures... It is pretty much self explain of step by step in the picture comparison. The technique is just a technique, make sure you understand what you are making, young tree, big old trunk, old monster trunk or any specific tree texture that you like. Get some reference of tree pictures. And also compare with the scenes, objects or characters that you are making in proportion. Be creative!!

The key tools are actually sharp, flaky, uneven stones and blades, other tools may apply for more details. You may want to practice a little before you work on your projects. Well, it supposes to be fun, so relax and let go with the clay. You may add an armature first if you need, especially a bigger trunk. Please advice if you have any suggestion or question. Part 2, 3 or maybe... are probably wood board, pile wood or rotten wood etc.
Thank you for watching my friends! Enjoy!

Thanks! It took me some times to figure out the easy way was using natural stuffs as tools.
Although some might say it's not sculpting art but craft work, well, I think as long as it works, is a good method. ^^
