Description
This little gamer chick is trying to figure out how to turn this newfangled doodad on! He's not really quite sure what to do...and just sitting there... blankly...Meet Dukboki King (also affectionately known as The Demon King Chicken), 's new Japanese bantam chick. After years of taking care of my lovely ladies when I'm on vacation, MiniMM decided, "I want my own harem too!" and recently ordered a batch of chicks. Of course I went over and took the liberty of taking pictures of the chicks with some Xbox 360 controllers.

Indeed! He'll get that sailor's mouth yet and learn to peep (or crow...he's quite the crower now XD) out the swaggiest abuse out there ever! Everyone online will fear and bow before this gamer chick!

Alas, his little feet don't quite reach all the keys he needs when it comes to PC gaming...but perhaps when he grows up big and strong he'll make the switch.

Thanks! He was a very cute little chick, though he's grown up to be quite an aggressive and noisy rooster now! We like to joke that he's the "Demon King Chicken" compared to the rest of the chicks, who are still as sweet as they were when they were wee little babies.

Lol, one time I went to a friend's house and tried to play call of duty and I had absolutely no idea how to work the x box controller. He had to give me help on everything. It was so embarrassing.

Haha, chickens are a very contagious hobby! XD
How awesome that your friend decided to get a few aswell, I'm really curious about how many and what breeds?
This photo turned out really sweet, love it! Must have been hard to get considering how active tiny chicks are, haha!

They are! Chickens are just so great! You can't just have one, and once you start, it's hard to stop! I'm so glad that now I have someone else near me who has chickens too. They are such a joy! She got them through mail order and bought 12 of them- 8 assorted d'uccle (she liked mine so much from taking care of her all these years when I'm on vacation ), 2 white silkies, and 2 black tailed while Japanese bantams. Unfortunately 5 arrived dead on arrival (including both silkies), and 1 was in very poor condition, so now there are 6 left. We think 3 of them are roosters, leaving us hopefully 1 porcelain d'uccle, 1 mille fleur d'uccle, and 1 Japanese hen. Time will tell within a few weeks!
And thank you! Oh yes, this little guy is very active haha! He's one of the most active ones out of the bunch, but I'm glad I was able to get this shot of him, especially since we may have to give him away soon to keep neighborhood peace and won't have him much longer.

Indeed, I can't wait for the day I get to raise my own little flock!
Oh wow, what an interesting collection! Sorry to hear that so many was dead on arrival, especially the silkies, they're so sweet! Were they delayed in the mail or as it just the Califonia heat that killed them off?
How are they doing now? Which varieties was the surviving ones?
I'm betting this chick has moved on to another home by now huh?

ScythicKitty In reply to herofan135 [2015-12-20 07:35:50 +0000 UTC]
When you do have your flock, please do share with me what breeds you end up getting!
We're really not sure why they died. We're guessing it's probably just from being in a box and handled in the mail. They didn't put much hay in there, so I can imagine them being jostled around roughly as they traveled through the states to get here. There ended up being three males (one passed away from unknown causes, but the chick in this picture is still alive and doing well in a loving home), and three females that survived! I'm taking care of the three girls right now, alongside my elderly ones while my friend is on vacation. There's a porcelain d'uccle, a mille fleur d'uccle, and a black tailed white Japanese bantam! They all get along pretty well, though the youngin's don't know any better and keep trying to go through the other side of the fence, or they fly up to it...and the neighbor has a dog. Stay away from that! So a vigilant eye needs to be kept on these guys!

Indeed, I wouldn't let you miss it for the world, haha. XD
Yeah, I guess mail travel can do that to tiny chicks for sure.
I'm so happy to hear the survivors are doing well though, even if it seems like you have to watch them closely. Many bantam breeds are skilled flyers and jumpers, haha. XD

Very much so! It's pretty funny to think of chickens as good fliers, and many of my friends don't believe me when I tell them about the chickens flying up past the fence or onto our roof! XD
Have a most wonderful new year my friend!

At least you have a good picture among the blurry ones you took! Haha, I'm still getting used to my camera XD lol
Oh! And I heard from my aunty and uncle that they're getting new chicks soon too *w* I'm excited, hopefully they find a better fence to put around the yard too. Mostly to protect them from the neighbour's dog. :S

Thanks! And I agree, it only takes one decent picture! XD I just snapped it with my phone, but I hope next time I'll get to use our better camera (which I don't actually know how to use...I just click and hope that it focuses correctly )! Cameras are so advanced but complex nowadays! What camera do you have?
And yay for new chicks! Do you know what breed they are getting? Chicks are so fun! And hopefully they will have a better fence! I once went to a feedstore, and someone took their pitbull in. The dog was really smart and I watched in horror as the dog actually quickly figured out how to open the cage and stuck her head inside and attacked the birds! I couldn't really stop the dog since I didn't want to get bitten either...I think the dog just wanted to play with the chicks and thought they were toys but unfortunately the size difference ultimately killed them. The owner managed to come back before all the chicks were dead thankfully. >.< I wish your aunt and uncle all the best for their new chicks!

How true XD lol. I have a NIKON coolpix digital camera. XD it's small, and not really expensive, but it's waterproof enough to survive the rain XD
I'm not quite sure yet but I'm looking forward to see them :3 I hope they get an electric fence to stop the neighbours dog because sadly it's not the first time that dog got them X( i just hope the dog owner realizes it was their fault too. Oh man, I'm sure the owner of the chicks wasn't happy about that O: that must've been really horrible to watch!

I used to have that camera too! I think I had three of them actually, different models over the years as the old ones stopped working (it couldn't zoom or focus) from me being clumsy bumsy and dropping them too much. (It's a miracle my 3DS still works though since I had it at launch!) I agree that it's nice that it can survive some rain, plus it's sturdy enough you can just toss it in your bag and not worry about it, unlike some of those fancier cameras that require all this padding and special equipment! They take gorgeous pictures, but they're not very practical for the everyday photographer! XD
I hope they'll get an electric fence too! That will be a great deterrent for the dog, and hopefully it'll keep the chickens within a certain area as well. And I agree that it definitely is the dog owner's fault. If they know their dog has this problem, they need to keep it leashed. In the US, you can sue them for their dog's damage, and you legally can shoot the dog when it's in your yard. Of course most people don't do this since it often times is just an accident and no harm was intentionally done, but when it is, it's really unfortunate.

Yeah my parents have those expensive and delicate cameras XDD I'm still wondering how they can use them without dropping it XDD
Bleah... unfortunately living in Canada I'm not sure if my aunty and uncle can sue or not but I wish they would some days, or since they do have a license to use a gun... It's happened more than once so I could hardly call it an accident anymore. But yeah I agree it really sucks when it happens

I know! They're quite bulky and heavy too! Even though many come with a strap, I'm always worried about the super expensive lens getting scratched, or getting fingerprints on them since they need to have very delicate cloth cleaning them too. But the pictures they take are definitely worlds above the dinky phone or cheap little digital camera! XD
Having happened multiple times really stinks! Those neighbors really ought to do something about it, and I agree, it can hardly be called an accident any more at this rate.

Yup the fears of carting around a huge, expensive, yet fragile Camera XD. Indeed they take very lovely photographs, but I wouldn't want one in my hands unless I wanted photography to be a job for me. XD
Yeah... Hopefully the problem will get solved soon...

My sister is a wedding photographer, so she has a lot of those big fancy cameras. When my mom saw how nice her pictures looked compared to our phone ones (which are not bad by any means, as phones can take some impressive pictures nowadays, but they certainly can't compare to those hulking cameras), she wanted one too and ended up getting a nice camera last year. She never really learned to use it though so pretty much I mostly use it now. But since it's on the fragile side, I just use it to take pictures of food in quiet restaurants mostly. I'm worried my chickens will peck the lens, or if I take it to an amusement park or out hiking I'll drop it somewhere! XD

I definitely remember that photo! I liked the story behind it too! Haha I know right? It's so pretty and you just want to take a picture, but handling such a large, heavy camera can be a bit troubling at times! I definitely inadvertently got fingerprints all over mine because I didn't realize the lens wasn't on, and I'm always so worried about scratching it when I'm trying to get up close to take macro shots!

Oh no! And it didn't have any lens on it? That's too bad! But accidents happen XD it just kinda sucks when it does... Yeah, sadly that was the only picture I liked out of the collection of candle pictures i had, the rest were either too dark or too blurry XD I think i'll just use my small digital camera from now on, it causes less stress XD
