This is based on a whole lot of stuff that happened when ~mikiluvsyuu , ~CloudandFeather , ~MiniMM , and yours truly went on a cruise to Mexico in January. I tried to include a little bit of everything we did, and went for the Rilakkuma style. I hope we can do something similar again soon! I actually finished this two weeks ago but never got around to posting it since I only want to post on Tuesdays and kept forgetting when Tuesday actually came around!This is the spring challenge piece by the way. Even though it's almost the end of summer.
Theme: Main subject is eating
Challenge Requirements:
1. Metal object with obvious metallic shine effect
2. Every food group should be present in the picture
3. At least 2 humanoids, and they must be wearing a set of clothes you designed yourself
Style Requirements
1. Night scene using night lighting
2. Pastel colors
3. An art style you haven't tried before should be used

Thank you! My sister really likes the Rilakkuma style, so I gave it a shot. It was also good practice to not make things so deeply saturated like I normally do haha!
And don't worry about seagulls, they only eat souls when they're absolutely famished. Nevermind that longing gaze.

What I'm missing here is the "obvious metallic shine effect." I have to deduct points for that.
I believe that you fulfilled the other requirements well, and I think that you've done a good job imitating the rilakkuma style. I like the heightened sense of activity that the collage elements bring to the drawing. Also, the far background makes me wonder if you didn't travel to some alternate dimension/planet/realm where nature looks like that. Nothing surprises me as far as cruises go
I wonder why you chose to include features on some of the very tiny people in the photos, but not others.
Overall, I like this piece, and I wouldn't mind getting a postcard that looked like this. Good job!

Firstly, welcome back to dA after your hiatus! It's so great to hear from you again! I hope things have slowed down a bit and that you have some time to take a breather now! 
The camera on the right actually has a shine to it, though it might not be obvious enough. The slippers also have a metallic shine too, though they're not entirely metal and only partially so. Fair enough though, next time I shall try to make it more noticeable, and maybe pick a style that caters to it better!

I'll have to pay more attention in the future for things like that. And I'm glad I got the Rilakkuma style. I hope to try it again in the future, though there are just so many fun styles and techniques that I might not get to it again for some time. And it makes me very happy to hear that you enjoyed it! It wasn't really a competition, but me and my friends do this "challenge piece" thing where once every couple months, we come up with a theme and a set of rules and all draw it out. It's really fun seeing how everyone tackles the same theme and requirements so differently! These challenge pieces really helped me explore a lot of styles and improve bit by bit.

Yay thank you! I did try to include as much stuff as I could, from our under-the-door note exchanges and matching symbols of friendshipness to the karaoke session and puzzle doom. And of course there's also the up-and-down staircase picture that had to be included, seasick pills, animal towel folding, and oodles more! I want to go again with everyone! It was so fun (though a little more sleep would have been nice, but nothing we can do about sleep if we want to do all the activities XD)! Seagulls! So many seagulls! A shame we couldn't catch a glimpse of the buffalo...sigh. Next time, next time!

Actually that's Rocket Butt, not Reen! (Well, Reen is in there in the form of a doll, but...) Back in high school, Reen drew a cute picture of a fox (?) with a puffy tail that I thought was a fire, sort of like firefox, and dubbed it Rocket Butt (though as to what his/her real name is, I never found out otherwise), and from henceforth, Rocket Butt's tail was a fire. Or maybe the butt is just on fire from being too hot. Everyone drawn here is based on our avatars, but Reen's avatar is Mi Mi, not Rocket Butt, but since they're the same color anyways and their heads are very similar if not identical, and Rocket Butt seems more befitting of Reen, Rocket Butt was drawn in!
