Description Check out that retro gamer chick! Hm, the chick is looking a little confused...maybe he's too young to appreciate the good ol' gaming from back in the day.

This was taken about 4 years ago, Stew Bebee the silver laced sebright (who we ultimately gave away because he was a rooster, but such a sweetie he was!) with an NES controller.

Thank you! He was a good chick and grew up to be quite handsome, though our neighborhood doesn't allow roosters so unfortunately we had to give him away. We had a lot of fun with him while it lasted though!

Hehe past little birdies, though now that I think about it, I'd have to say some female humans probably could learn from this little guy too when it comes to gaming! Calm down people!

Wow nice! Mostly Nintendo games, and fine choices at that. I remember SMB3 consumed a hefty chunk of my childhood... a shame that you couldn't save back then and had to leave the console on for days at a time just to beat it! XD

ScythicKitty In reply to DreamDrifter91 [2014-09-30 06:00:39 +0000 UTC]

Unfortunately our neighborhood doesn't allow roosters since they crow. We used to have a rooster and we even put him inside at night so he wouldn't be crowing in the wee hours or at night, but he would still crow when he was out during the afternoon. The neighbors sure weren't happy with that (he's not noisier than your typical outdoor dog though...), and eventually we got a notice from the city that we had to get rid of him. So after that, every male we had we sadly had to give away. But they all went to good homes!

DreamDrifter91 In reply to ScythicKitty [2014-10-01 12:43:07 +0000 UTC]

That's unfortunate I would prefer a roster next door than a crazy barking dog.
That's good they went to good homes tho

ScythicKitty In reply to DreamDrifter91 [2014-10-02 20:07:49 +0000 UTC]

One of our neighbors agrees and said when they hear the rooster crow, they purposely come outside and enjoy some tea or read a book while listening to him. They said it reminded them of their childhood when they grew up on a farm, and it's been decades since they've heard a live rooster crow. (Ours is a bantam so he's not too obnoxiously loud anyways). Alas, not everyone thinks that way and I can see how they would consider him a nuisance even when we have him indoors during off hours. Oh well, I'm sure they're delighted to be in a big farm now instead of our little suburban backyard! The boy in this picture went to an educational farm that gives tours to children. He's a silver laced sebright, so I'm sure the kids will love looking at him.

Good times with the NES! It's nice meeting someone else on here who used to have one! I think you're the second person I've met in my 6 years on here who had an NES.

And thanks for your llama as well and taking the time to comment!

no problem & I think it's just because of my age & i'd always been a strictly nintendo girl i never owned systems that weren't nintendo  (handheld included, i went from GB to gameboy color, to GBA, to DSlite & now 3DS)

ScythicKitty In reply to brandi3981 [2014-09-19 01:56:48 +0000 UTC]

I also love my Nintendo systems. Although I've dabbled in the other ones, Nintendo always pulls in as my favorite. Their games are plenty fun for the young and old alike! I think it's unfortunate that people think their games aren't mature, but I think just because a game as blood, violence, and sex in it, that does not make it a mature game. Quite frankly, half the time the opposite occurs, especially with their target audience. Go Nintendo and their colorful, friendly fun games!

Thank you! He knows he's adorable haha. I wish I could have kept him, since he would have been such a gorgeous boy. It's such a shame roosters are so loud! I'm still hoping in the future I'll have a silver laced sebright. If you're not familiar with them, they grow up to look like this! www.ruleworks.co.uk/poultry/im… Lovely chickens!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RoseMiriArt In reply to ScythicKitty [2014-04-10 23:35:49 +0000 UTC]

That's too bad, did you give him away or something? I know I was sad to hear my dad and uncle didn't do that to our roosters when we had chickens... They became dinner

I've never heard of silver laced sebrights before, but they sound like beautiful chickens

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ScythicKitty In reply to RoseMiriArt [2014-04-12 08:17:37 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, we ended up giving him away to a nice lady and her daughter who worked at an educational farm. We had roosters before, and they are way too noisy for our suburb! I know the people on the other street could hear him loud and clear, because I could hear them imitating him as he crowed. XD Although nobody complained (in fact, our immediate neighbors said they loved the sound of chickens and it reminded them of when they used to live on a farm), we felt bad that we were probably bothering a lot of people with the noise.

I'm sorry to hear about your roosters! But I guess at least they had a good life before their end? I'm sure they were much happier than many other roosters! Do you guys plan to have chickens again?

Yeah, silver laced sebrights are gorgeous little birds! Most of my chickens are "toy" breeds (with the exception of two fat brown ones I adopted from my doctor) and more for being lawn ornaments than actually laying. If they happen to lay an egg, that's great, if not, at least they're cute to look at and so smart and cuddly! I made diapers for them too.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RoseMiriArt In reply to ScythicKitty [2014-04-12 13:04:53 +0000 UTC]

Ah yes, they are pretty noisy I think the main problem with ours was that they were "over-protective" of all the ladies and became agressive I think we literally had like three roosters and pretty much twenty to thirty chickens in total xD

Yes it is so sad, but I will ask if we can have more chickens. I think the main problem was the neighborhood dog and the hawks that tried to eat them all!

Toy breeds??? Lol xD so it's rare to get eggs from them huh? I wish I could see them~
