Description
This was a cheesecake with fruit, chocolate, and sugar art decorations on it from a cruise we went on a few years ago during the winter. I didn't get to eat it though because by then we were too full! Cruises are practically nonstop eating after all haha! It was a fun trip with MiniMM , mikiluvsyuu , and CloudandFeather .We all took a lot of food pictures, but I'm just starting to getting them uploaded now. A shame it was fairly dark in the buffet room. I really liked the sugar art on the cheesecake, but since I had to increase the exposure and remove highlights significantly due to the dark lighting, the picture also turned out a little less sharp than I would have liked.Β

Haha thanks! I ended up eating all the deserts that I took pictures of, but admittedly not all of them tasted as nice as they looked! XD

The chefs did a great job with the sugar art and the assortment of desserts at the buffet in general! But I guess true to most buffets, many dishes are more miss than hit due to the mass production of them and just sitting out at the buffet table all night... XDΒ

Thanks! I'm a big fan of desserts as well (at buffets I try to eat some kind of dessert with every plate I get haha!), though at this point for this picture, I was way too full to try this cake! What are your favorite desserts?Β

Yummy, that cake does look amazing, such intricate details! A shame you didn't get to taste it, haha.

We're really lucky that we live reasonably close to a cruise terminal! (Even though I think the only roundtrip places it goes are to Mexico and Hawaii... the rest are all one way trips and having to book a flight back plus a bus back to the parking lot is too much hassle! Well two places are better than none!). This was a really fun trip for me since it was the first non-school related vacation I took with just my friends. We went to Catalina Island and Mexico. It was a five day, four night trip. So not too short, but not too long that it would be a problem for people taking off from work! If you ever get a chance to go on a cruise, I really recommend it! I like that it doesn't have the same helpless feel if something goes wrong, like in an airplane. We also calculated that it's cheaper than a road trip. Gas is really expensive, and hotels aren't cheap either! On a cruise, they take care of your food, entertainment, safety... it's all done pretty well, minus when there's an outbreak of disease. XD
There was just so much food everywhere, all the time! I really wish that sometimes buffets would let you just take one bite of everything, instead of having those big pre-made portions, like whole cuts of steaks or big squares of cakes when you only want a sample in case it doesn't taste good! Are there any cruise lines that go out of Sweden?Β

Wow, that sounds like such an amazing experience! Must have been so great to just relax, eat good and have fun with your friends. One day I wish I can do the same!
I agree, a week or shorter is what I prefer when I travel aswell. Then you still have time to check things out, but you don't have to get homesick or worry about work or studies since you can often get a week off. Since I cultivate alot of plants and if you have pets being away for more than a week becomes tricky. Heck, even being away for just a day can be hard if you have pets, haha. You gotta ask someone to take care of them.
I tend to think about my pets alot if I'm away on vacation aswell...
Wow, sounds delicious! I know right? I wish it could be like a China restaurang buffet, where you can pick just a little of everything, haha.

It definitely was, and I hope you'll be able to experience it as well one day! Going on vacation with family is really fun and all, but there's a different kind of vibe when you go with your friends! What would your dream vacation with friends me like? (Road trip, cruise, plane ride to an exotic place, camping in a nature place, food tour, etc?)Β
I know exactly what you mean- it's hard to find someone who will take good care of your pets and plants, let along for long, extended periods of time! And if the vacation is too long, then you end up with a ton of responsibilities to take care of when you get back. A vacation that's too short though isn't really relaxing either due to the travel time involved! By the time you get there, you have to come right back! XD And like you said, even one day can be a problem when you have pets. Sometimes we're out longer than expected and by the time we get home, the dog has gone in the house! Pee stains and diarrhea are really hard to clean up! >.<Β
I agree, that's one thing I like about Asian buffets is that generally you don't have to waste much food if you just want to sample it first, even the dessert section! Also Happy February!

Indeed, going with your friends is a totally different experience! Oh, that's a really difficult question! What would your favorite trip with friends be like?
Usually we just take a trip by train or car and then spend a few nights at a hostel or hire a lodge and visit different places and do some sightseeing.
I personally would love to travel to London with my friends, and stay at a hotel for a week. There's so much we could do, there are quite a bit of museums, gardens, zoos, amusement parks, food and culture that you could experience. That would be my dream I think, even if a cruise would be really nice aswell. We have been camping a few times aswell! We packed tents and camped at a local wildlife reserve, and had a bbq and played some card games, it was awesome. Later in the evening we could even hear owls and grasshoppers chriping.
I know right? I struggle with that alot. If I have a long vacation I just get super stressed when I get home since you have so much to do! If it's too short then you don't have time to do all the things you would want to, and it feels like you miss out on alot of things.
Oh, that sounds like quite an awful experience to come home to, and diarrhea on top of that! Yuck! Our dog usually don't do that, but one time during the night I was going to the bathroom and I just stepped in this huge puddle, not a pleasant experience...
Indeed! That's what I like about it aswell. At restaurants I'm usually quite unsure about trying new things, but if you have a buffet, then you can just try a little of everything and find your favorites.
The same to you! I wish you all the best for this upcoming month!

My ideal trip with my friends...hm... I think it'd be a combination of some short day tours with a cruise! I would want to avoid planes just because the stress from being on one just is...not great. It would also be fun if it were a place that all of us have not been to, so everyone experiences the same thing. I like trips where I don't have to do the driving, but don't have to worry about sleep-deprived tour bus drivers either! The thing I like about cruises is that you can be as active or inactive as you'd like, and the hours aren't too punishing either the way tours are. The trips you take sound like a lot of fun! It sounds relaxing as well! London sounds like a great place to go. I've only been there once (for three days) and there's a lot to do there! One of my friends studied abroad there for a semester and absolutely loved it!Β
Oh man, I'd imagine stepping in that huge puddle while going to the bathroom was not pleasant at all! You just want to get it over with and go back to bed, but now you have a sopping foot from dog pee haha! I suppose that's just something that comes with having pets! One of my crayfish used to love running away. She pokes open the lid on her tank then crawls on out. She gets so far too! We'd come home and see some aquarium plants that she accidentally dragged out scattered on the floor depending on where she walked, and then find her in the laundry room covered in lint. Sadly one time (actually just two weeks ago) she escaped when we were out, and by the time we got back, it was too late. We found her under a table, completely dried up even though she was alive and well that morning. Β
Definitely! A lot of people around me are on diets though or just can't eat much for buffets so we don't go as often as I would like, but buffets are so fun! A lot of them are pretty good deals as well, and it's nice just trying everything they have to offer! Recently we had something called "Restaurant Week," where restaurants for one week have special prix-fix type of meals for a set price and you can try their most famous dishes! I decided to try some new things I normally don't pick, and I rather regret it haha! I suppose part of it could be because I don't normally pick those kinds of foods so I'm just not used to the flavors!

Wow, your ideal trip sounds awesome! Who doesn't love a crusie that makes daily stops at new places, so awesome! I agree, if everyone is visiting anew place, the thrill becomes that much bigger, but I have to say that it would be fun to show your friends a place that you've been to and show them all there is to see. Yeah, I once thought about studying abroad, mainly in the UK or Germany, but back then I still had a my pet budgie and also my beginning collection of plants. You can't just leave all that for six months to a year, I just couldn't. I remember when we visited my grandpa for just over the weekend, from friday to monday, and had our grandma watch Blues and our dog. When we came back home Blues was acting very strange and kept her distance for quite some time before she wanted to greet me. I think she felt abandoned by me, since we were so close. I don't even wanna think about her reaction if I was gone for six months, she probably would've forgotten me by the time I got home, haha. But I'm sure your friend had a great time there, I've been looking around on the web and there is tons of stuff to do. Have you ever thought about studying or working abroad?
Haha, yeah, I wasn't exactly the happiest person on the planet, haha! Man, that's one big crayfish if she manages to poke open the lid! Makes my shrimps seem so tiny, haha.
Oh no! That's such shame! Sometimes we find toads and frogs dried out in our laundry room or basement, they get in when the doors are open during warm days, and then they dehydrate once inside.
Indeed, it's the variety that makes it so enjoyable. I can actually get "bored" by a dish if it's a large serving of just one thing (If it's not something I love or if I'm very hungry, haha), the taste becoems bland after a while. Oh, that restaurant week sounds really neat, a great way to try new dishes, what did you have? Today we actually ate a buffet at a newly opened china restaurant, they food was amazing! They even served dumplings and sushi which I haven't seen in most other asiatic restaurants. I just loved it, I basically took just a tiny bit of everything and ended up with a large plate, haha.

Haha after my trip to northern Europe, I realized that for my ideal trip, maybe a cruise with daily stops at new places isn't such a good idea after all! I think a cruise with 2 days of new ports, 1 day at sea, then another 2 days of new places is better. The day at sea provides the much needed relaxation after 2 days of running around so much! I love seeing new places but when it's back to back to back, everywhere starts looking the same! It was just a few weeks, but even though we had someone take care of my chickens, I can tell they really missed us. While they didn't act strange or keep their distance the way Blues did, one was painfully thin. You could feel all her bones and it was like not even paper covering her. I guess she was depressed and just wasn't eating. She's almost back to a normal weight now thankfully! I think if we were gone just a few more days, she probably would have kicked the bucket! As you said, it's really hard going on trips and leaving all your pets and plants behind. No one will love and care for them the same way you do, and you feel bad if they're sad and think they've been abandoned! When I was in undergrad, I used to think about studying abroad since I heard it's an amazing experience, but for my major, they didn't offer classes overseas at places I wanted to go. Working abroad for a bit is something I thought about as well, namely in Hong Kong since it's like my home away from home, but I think my inability to read Chinese would really hamper me and most work would require you to know both English and Chinese. Would you still consider going to UK or Germany one day to work or study?Β
My crayfish was just the average size, but she was really crafty and knew how to escape somehow! Even I am puzzled at how she escapes sometimes! And wow, toads and frogs dried in your basement! It must be quite a surprise to find them sometimes haha! How big are they? That's such a shame that they get in then can't get back out. Do you ever find other animals? Have you ever managed to find a live one and save it before it got dehydrated? I guess they're just looking for somewhere cool! In the summer when it gets super hot here, at my sister's house floods of ants come in, and it becomes quite problematic. Just two weeks ago we had to toss out all our dog food and a lot of chocolates since the ants got to them. Β
I know exactly what you mean! I also get "bored" of a dish if it's too much of one thing and even though the first half of the dish is absolutely delicious, it just gets too samey after awhile. When I took a nutrition class, my professor said that it actually only takes as little as 2-3 bites for the flavor to become "stale" to the tastebuds (I forgot the specific term) and the meal already starts tasting not as great. That's part of the reason why a lot of the classy restaurants serve many dishes, but they're all ridiculously tiny portions, since they don't want your last memory of the dish to be one that your taste buds already got used to and doesn't taste as good any more.Β
Restaurant week is very neat indeed! Although the value hasn't been as great the past two years, I still really look forward to it each time it comes around. I love sampling the restaurant's best! This year we've had a couple of things, like a buffet where they cook for you (similar to those Mongolian places with the giant round grill table), but you can pick anything from pasta to seafood and they cover a large variety of cuisines. It's so fun watching the chef cook for ten people at a time, plus it was cheap too, I think $10 for lunch (about 80 krona I think?). We also got to try a steakhouse that is situated in a mansion from 1909, and historically delivered more than 3500 babies. I wish I had my better camera then because the interior is quite nice, and sadly iphones don't do a great job taking pictures in dark places! I guess the dim lighting helps with the romantic mood though haha!
That's awesome that there's a new Chinese buffet with good food! It's always nice finding a buffet that's reasonably priced that is delicious as well. Are Asian restaurants common around your area?Β

Oh yeah, I bet that it could become quite stressful though if you do alot of running around between various stops with a tour group. My mom and stepdad went to Turkey for a vacation, and they slept at a new hotel each day and went with a tour bus to new places every day aswell. They said that it was lots of fun but VERY tiring aswell since there were never any time for a real rest. But they did see lots of stuff thanks to that, haha.
Oh noes! I'm sorry to hear that one of your chickens became so thin, seems like she didn't like that you guys left her. Which one was it?
Hong Kong would be pretty cool, but since you don't know how to read chinses it might be a bit difficult. You don't think you could get hold of English books there? Here in Sweden alot of classes are international and are held in English with English litterature since we do actually have a fair amount of international students, especially from China and Japan actually!
I don't know, the thought is very tempting in one way, but I've almso tcompletely forgot how to speak German, haha. I can read a bit though, haha. So my bet would probably be the UK, have a much easier time with the English language. I'll have to wait and see.
Well, our frogs and toads were about 5 cm long, not too big. Once I had one frog jump out at me as I was moving around a couple of buckets in our basement. XD You could say that we both were pretty startled, haha. I did manage to chase it out of the basement though.
We often have quite a bit of spiders and the occassional butterfly that gets in when the door stands open, but otherwise I haven't seen alot of other animals.
Oh, seems like you have quite a big problem with ants then, luckily we've never had those issues here. Ants can get in everywhere though.
Oh, I didn't know it only took about 2-3 bites to make the taste starting to appear stale, that's really interesting! Then a buffet is the way to go, haha.
Oh man, restaurant week sounds amazing! I really like those places where you can pick your own buffet and they cook it for you afterwards. We have this chinese restaurant in town that will allow you to create your own wok based on lots of ingredients, like noodels or squid, haha. 80 kronor isn't alot for a whole meal, and I bet it must be quite amazing to watch someone cook for ten people at the same time, haha. I would die of stress if that was me, lol!
No way, a mansion that has been converted into a steakhouse, that must have been such a cool experience! I love old buildings like that, really neat! My camera is just the same, if it's dark or dim all the pictures become blurry. XD
Oh yeah! Here in Sweden you can find Asian restaurants in every large city, and there is also alot of food trucks that sell asian-inspired food aswell!

A comment all the way from August 5th! Goodness time really flies- can you believe it has already been over a year? I apologize for this incredibly late response!Β
Your mom and stepdad's trip to Turkey sounds very tiring! A new hotel every day! But it also must have been so fun and exciting to get to see so many different landmarks and sites there. I guess for the sake of efficiency and cramming in as much as possible into one trip, rest is sacrificed, though it is worth it for those rare vacations! We do similar things as well, especially when we go to countries that we know we may not be back for many years. Like a few years ago, we went to Greece and Turkey, and boy are we glad we did and saw all that we could, since now we probably won't be back for probably a decade!
It was Mumulamula (the silkie faverolle mix) who became very thin after we left. She's all right now, though since we're leaving for HK soon for two weeks, hopefully she won't become super thin again, especially now that she's another year older! How is Puff doing now?Β
In Hong Kong, all official signs (like subways and streets) also have English subtitles, and there are many international schools there. The only downside is that English use seems to be on the decline after the British handover, and a lot of local restaurants and smaller shops don't have any English on them. Then if you visit mainland China by train, once you're there, there is almost no English whatsover in the cities next to HK (it made buying a ticket for the subway very difficult! XD). It is a good motivation (for me at least) to learn to read Chinese, though I haven't really gotten around to that yet. It becomes compounded by the fact that there's simplified and traditional Chinese as well.Β
Haha that's pretty funny that both you and the frog seemed startled by each other in the basement! Have you seen any frogs there recently? Have they ever gotten trapped there on accident and dry out?Β
Me too, it really is fun getting to dine in historical buildings! Much better than having them demolished! Granted, sometimes they have old musty smells, or weird layouts that are not good for elderly or disabled people, but it's nice to "experience" a piece of history that had some prominence over a hundred years ago. Buildings put to good use! And I agree, the chefs who can cook for ten people ordering ten different meals on one grill simultaneously make it look so easy, but in my experience, it's hard enough just to cook for myself! XD When the oil spatters, I always jump back since I worry it'll hit my eyes (it once did to a friend, who thought she had gone blind as she couldn't see out of that eye all night, but miraculously, when she woke up, she could see again and in perfect vision! Indirect surgery almost it seemed!), or sometimes, or a lot of times descaling and taking the skin off of fish takes forever! What is typically your least favorite part in cooking?Β
Food trucks are awesome! They were trendy for awhile here, though I seldom stop at them since unfortunately they also tend to be pricy (taking advantage of that popularity!). I really like that their small menu often means they can specialize in some very tasty, unique, niche things. Do you have a favorite food from a food truck?Β

Haha, that's ok pal! I can sometimes find really old notes that I've forgotten to reply to aswell. XD
Yeah! By cramming so much in you get a very intense but "rich" vacation in a way. I agree, it's quite expensive to travel long distances so it's a rare occassion indeed. With the current status of Turkey and Greece it may take a while before I would feel secure enough to visit.
Best of luck for Mumulamula then (love her name, haha), but Puff is doing really well! Bright and alert as always. I try to teach him to go up slightly earlier so that we can spend more quiality time together once I start working, but so far he's not super keen, lol. XD
I haven't seen any frogs lately to be honest, they often disappear after they're done breeding in spring. But sometimes a lot of them get stuck in the pond filter. XP
Indeed, even if they can be a bit hard to get around in, it's much better to convert an historical building like that rather than demolish it. We need to preserve our cultural heritage, haha.
Oh wow, I'm so glad your friend got your vision back! Would've been awful otherwise, luckily I wear glasses so I don't worry too much about that. For me, I think cooking with milk is bothersome, like some kinds of porridge and other dishes that have a lot of milk. It overflows so easily, and within seconds, you just need to look away for a moment and BAM, milk all over the stove...
I'm also not too fond of cutting onions, since it feels like I'm killing my eyes, haha. How about you?
Well, when we visited a manga/comic convention a few weeks ago, there was this foodtruck selling Japanese dishes, it was so good!

There's seemingly so many dangerous places now, whether it's due to civil wars, terrorists, political unrest, or diseases. Recently in the US, there's been a problem with "killer clowns," where it sounds like a prank or some internet meme, but a lot of schools (including mine) across the US have been getting sightings and threats in regards to killer clowns. Since school shootings and stabbings do occur every year, even though most people disregard these social media threats and sightings, the police have been taking it seriously and increasing security. It doesn't help that in light of this, clown costumes have been selling abnormally well ahead of Halloween this year!Β
Sounds like Puff likes to sleep in! XD How has he been lately? Have you guys been able to spend more time together?Β
Yikes haha! How often does the pond filter get checked? Hopefully there haven't been too many frogs in there lately! XD We had a frog in our pool filter once, and it was very fortunate that that was the day the pool man came to clean the pool and check the equipment!Β
That is so true! I had a similar experience with cooking with milk. I was making creme brulee, and was heating the cream on the stove. I had the flame turned down to low as well, and the pot was only 1/3 full without a lid on. I turned around to fill a kettle with water to boil for maybe about 15 seconds, and suddenly, I hear a sizzle behind me! The pot was overflowing with cream foam! Gah! After that, no more doing anything else, even if it is for just a few seconds, and now I always keep an eye on the pot of milk or cream haha. I also agree with the onions as well. For some reason, my sister can cut most onions without a problem, but when I do it, my eyes just burn and tears come out nonstop! This even happens with green onions sometimes too. I'm also now a fan of peeling garlic, though that is more just it being tedious and getting garlic smells stuck on my nails rather than anything else haha. Do you cook porridge often?Β
Nice! How was the manga/comic convention? Did you see cosplayers? What kind of Japanese dishes did you try?Β

Oh man, we've been having troubles with killer clowns lately aswell! There's been a lot of sightings and attacks by people dressed up as clowns. One guy even got stabbed in the shoulder by one. I just hope this craziness will tone down after halloween is over. In some cities kids are scared of going alone to school because of this. :/
Puff is doing well! He's healthy and active, and turned one a few weeks ago. But he's lived more than half of his expected lifespan by now. :/
I've been able to spend some more time with the little guy though.
We clean it about 4-5 times per year, it's a very big filter and it doesn't require weekly checkups like in an aquarium thankfully!
Oh wow, then you know my pain with milk! XD
Yeah, I do that every morning for breakfast. It's easy to make but filling! How about you? Do you cook often?
There were a ton of cosplayers there, which was really awesome! I saw all kinds of comic, game and manga characters. Can't list them all, haha. But I saw Rogue, Obi-wan Kenobi and the lich king to name a few!
Well, I tried a dish with rice and fried beef, it was really good!

Wow, that's crazy! The victim must have been so terrified, first there's a clown after them, then they get stabbed! I'm glad that now the killer clown craze is over, and really hope it doesn't come back next year. We already have enough trouble as it is...but I guess some people just have a sick sense of humor. I heard that since the movie trailer for It recently released, a lot of professional clowns are upset at it, since it's making clowns look bad all over again. It must be tough being a clown nowadays.Β
That's really great that you were able to spend more time with Puff lately. You must be taking very good care of him, since he's so active! Even though he's more than half of his expected lifespan, I think he was very, very lucky to have you in his life, giving him so much love and care.
Unfortunately, in the past two months, I haven't cooked much at all, unless you count super quick stuff like 5 minute chocolate cake in a mug, or cake mix cookies. It is fun learning all these "cheater" ways to make "homemade" food though! Have you made any new favorite recipes recently?Β
Nice! If I saw so many cosplayers in one area, I think my phone would have run out of space within ten minutes haha! I love seeing how much work people put into their costumes, or how they carry out the characters. Some of them stay in character really well and it's so fun!Β

Yeah, being a professional clown must be so hard, I bet it started after the movie "it" was released. But I know there's another horror clown movie in the making, just wow.
Let's hope this craze will stay away for a while huh?
Thank you so much! It means a lot to hear you say that!
I hope he's happy aswell!
Haha, that's alright! We canΓ€t always have time for difficult recipes. XD
Recently I created some Japanese dishes, especially different varieities of noudle soup.
Haha, I had to really restarin myself and only take pics of the ones I loved the most, but it was an awesome experience!

Thanks! It was one of the few that hadn't been cut into yet, or had the sugar art taken off of it (we got to the dessert buffet a little late!), so I'm glad I was able to take a picture, even though I was too full to eat it!

It definitely was and I hope I'll be able to do it again in the next couple years. It was my first non-school related trip with just my friends, so that made it a blast!

Thanks! I wish I had room in my stomach to try it! I was just way too full from lunch before and didn't realize they were setting up a special dessert buffet afterwards! They had a lot of well-decorated cakes, but most of them were already cut into by the time we saw it. This was one of the few that hadn't been touched yet.

Awww, that's too bad. :/ and yeah, it kinda sucks when you get a big meal and you eat your fill only for dessert to be brought out without your knowing. xD I don't think that's happened to me yet though.

In the previous days, the dessert was just right there with the buffet. This time though, we didn't realize they had scheduled a separate dessert buffet. We went to go see an art auction. Halfway through, I needed to use the restroom so I got up to the upper deck...and saw they had set up ice sculptures, chocolate fountains, and all kinds of cute little desserts, like dessert sushi and ice cream swans! Alas it was the tail-end of that special buffet by then, sigh. I hope that it won't happen to you, so you can sample all kinds of goodies! Have you been on a cruise before?Β

Aww that's too bad! D: I haven't been on a cruise yet but I probably will in the future XD. And hopefully the same thing won't happen when it comes to the buffet... XD

Are there any places in particular that you'd like to go on a cruise to in the future? I hope you'll have lots of fun! The first time we went on the cruise, we didn't really check the daily program so we didn't realize that they had planned a lot of activities for us to do on the ship (many of them are in somewhat obscure places that you wouldn't walk by normally) so definitely give that a look when you go, or else it's going to be a rather slow vacation! XD We finally figured out the "proper" way to cruise and it was a blast! We even got caught up into things like towel folding lessons and singing competitions (got to bring home a trophy hehe).

Hmm... Can't think of any at the moment... although it would be really cool to take a cruiseΒ either to Hawaii or even down to Australia. XD Kinda reminds me of a certain school I had the opportunity to go to... where you sail across the Ocean while doing schoolwork and other activities XD And that's really cool that you got to bring a trophy home~! ^^

I think Hawaii would be fun, and we have a port nearby that actually goes there (no extra airplane fees yay!). The only downside is that comparatively, there are very few port of calls and a lot of days at sea. If the cruise doesn't plan the activities well or they just happen to not be interesting, things can get really boring on the boat fast. I remember that happened when we went up to Alaska. The food was great, the ports pretty cool, and the few events were really fun, but for the most part there were too many hours of nothing to do and you can only explore the ship so many times. You can't swim and don't want to hang out outside either when it's so cold!Β
I remember in elementary school, each person in class was assigned a student who had the opportunity to do the semester at sea, and we would write to them and they'd respond once a month and the teacher would distribute their letters. It was really cool to hear about their adventures. Where did you go to when you were sailing? Is it an experience you'd recommend? (sorry I feel like you've mentioned this briefly before, but I can't seem to recall the details >.<)

Ugh I remember now, my family and I had gone on a cruise ship before to travel from Vancouver to Vancouver Island, and yeah the boat ride was slow and there was nothing to do for hours on end on those rides too. >.> It truly is a pity when the trip itself is boring.
Oh yeah I had mentioned this briefly before, it was actually a suggestion for my first year of college. xD mostly since I didn't have the money to go for high school... I don't even remember what it's called but I wish I could've gone. I actually haven't gone sailing due to lack of money but it definitely was an experience to really look into.

I agree! I know those cruise ships are supposed to be a great experience and we're fortunate to have the opportunity to ride them, but I can't help but feel they could definitely be better and it ultimately becomes a traveling waiting room.Β
That's too bad, I hope that one day you'll be able to go on that cruise! Traveling abroad is supposed to be a great experience, and I heard from people who have been on that semester at sea thing that it's a lot of fun and you get really close to your friends. But even if you don't, your first year of college will be exciting in its own way. It's so different from high school.

Yeah... There's a lot that could be done when it comes to entertainment purposes but sitting around waiting for the trip to end can be a real drag.
Yeah I wish I could go too. Oh yeah, from what I heard college will be a lot different from high school. I have mixed feelings of scared and excited XD

Thanks! I'm sure it probably was as well, but I just didn't have room for it haha. So much food everywhere! It was one of the few cakes that hadn't been cut into yet by the time we got there. Times like this, it makes me wish that the dessert (or any) section came in smaller portions so that way we could all sample a bite of everything, instead of having entire slices or pre-cut squares that fill you right up in two pieces. So much to try, so little space!
