Description This is the limited edition set of the Haunted Mansion Mickey and Friends vinylmations (missing Pete), recently released to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland! We got them on release day from D-street at Downtown Disney! Mickey and Minnie were toppers, and the rest were in blind boxes. It features Butler Mickey, Maid Minnie, Caretaker Goofy, Organ Player Donald, and Constance Daisy (with dat axe and veil!). The set was designed by Ron Cohee.

The complete set has all of the above, plus Pete as the opera singer (not shown). We originally had him, but then decided to sell him since we didn't care for the vinyl as much.

Haha the Goofy one is pretty cute huh? We got really lucky from getting the whole set from blind boxes (we traded off Pete before I took the picture), plus we live fairly close to Downtown Disney. I hope one day you'll be able to get the Goofy! I really like his little lantern accessory.

Beside the Lion King and Jungle Book, I usually go for Goofy Vinylmations.

Fun! My sister is aiming for complete sets of "anything cute" (mostly what I take pictures of) and my brother in law is going for Marvel, Star Wars, and Pirates. I'm just getting whatever looks cool so my personal collection is all over the place. XD

You have quite a few Goofy vinyls! I bet they look really cool lined up together. That's awesome that you have the Jingle Smell one!

Ohh~ they look awesome! I love how gloomy & dark Mickey & Minnie's faces are & Donald is just mad, as always. They are rather true to the character (minus Pete, which I don't know why they would put him as the opera singer).

I'm glad! They did pretty well with this set, and unlike many other sets, I didn't feel there were a lot of undesirables in this one... minus Pete for us. Usually we only want 1-3 from a set, but here we wanted them all (minus said Pete XD)! I agree, I'm not really sure why out of all the characters in Haunted Mansion, why Pete had to be the opera singer. I wasn't a big fan of the design of the vinyl, nor the fact he was paired as such. Are there any vinyls that you personally really like in general?

Hehe and I see you're using your new icon! It looks so familiar for some reason!

Yeah~ those mystery boxes that you never know what you're gonna get frustrates me. I don't think I can buy them without feeling guilty, especially getting an undesirable one haha. I haven't seen any vinyls that I really like yet. But never know(: I'm more interested in the Disney Infinity figures; I'm strange like that. I wish OUaT had figures... would buy all~!!!

Hooray for new icon! Thank you again for making it (: I like watching it wink! haha.

Haha oh yes, there's definitely a bit of a guilty feeling when buying them since they're so expensive for a little piece of plastic! And after spending all that, I don't want to trade them away even though I don't like it! I feel obligated to keep it, or at least trade it for something I want for sure. My sister is part of this vinyl trading group on Facebook, so those unwanted vinyls end up going to good homes in exchange for ones we actually want. Phew! Sometimes it takes awhile before someone shows up with a "want" for one of your undesirables though. I feel bad for the artists sometimes. I feel like if I designed some vinyls, but everyone said, "Ew I don't like this character even though the design is good" or "I keep getting this ugly one" for the ones I made, I'd be so sad! There's some vinyls out there that are obviously not as well cherished.

If I could trade the DI figures, I think I would be more interested in them too! Even though version 1.0 of the game looks to be not great (another one of my friends played it and agreed with me that the physics are weird and animation quality chunky, and overall not quite their cup of tea), the figures look nice! There's no excitement for blind boxes or trading them in the community with those figures, which I think is what drives me to continue wanting vinyls despite DI looking much nicer. And more useful at least. Version 2.0 looks to be smoother in all areas when I checked it out last week. I still don't think I'll buy it though. I'm going to save up for those Amiibos! Yay!

OUaT figures would be pretty cool! I would like a Regina and Red one! The rest I don't care as much for as a figures, but I think they would look really cool as a complete set if they ever came out as one. I always liked looking at those display cases in anime and toy shops, filled with all these super cool, limited edition figures and Gundams and complex Lego things. I would want a display case like that too, but filling that up is going to take a lot of guilty wallets!

I like these!  So these are from a Haunted Mansion set eh?  I think I'm always going to be partial to Donald since... Well, he's Donald.  Although, I do like how Micky and Minnie just seem like they don't want to be there.  Like a photo is just so far beneath them.  Daisy actually looks like she's going to do some damage somewhere or to someone.  And she has this evil smirk to boot!  Not that kind of boot!  Oh, speaking of boots, Caretaker Goofy looks like he's done a little more than boot with that face.  Apparently he's had something bad to eat and hasn't had enough time to get to a proper throne.  Poor Goofy.  We've all been there... Right?  Does no one else act as a caretaker for properties of maniacal anthropomorphic animals?  Well... Neither do I...  Saved...  Now nobody knows my secret...

Vinylmations are pretty cool huh? Useless, overpriced, and limited playability, but cool! My sister really liked this set so when I got back from school, we headed over to get them on release day, lest we wouldn't be able to get them. And a close one it was! They were sold out of their first shipment, but lucky for us, the second truck was on its way...just lost somewhere, so they weren't sure if they'd get it before they closed. We got to watch the fireworks at least from Disneyland while waiting for the delightful toys to arrive.

And a photo opportunity is totally far below Mickey and Minnie. Butlers and maids are real hoity toity folks yo! And Daisy has load up equipped because she needs more ammo for her axe to KO some air for them cloudy airmantpierubies! Poor Goofy indeed. I know exactly what it's like, since someone 700 miles north always boots at the worst time, unless garlic is involved. Who could it possibly be? That particular someone uses the entire world as his throne, minus airplanes! So much booty from up there! We don't need any more advanced airbending!

Hehe, I like the vinylmations.  We used to buy similar things for Marvel called... Mighty Muggs?  Something like that.  Also overpriced with limited playability!  Same thing in that some are much better than others.  I have a few (and I think a few that are actually worth some decent money, or at least a little more than what I paid for).  I don't think they make anymore Mighty Muggs, and I'm okay with that.  They're not anything special even though I enjoyed the whole collection process for a bit.  And nice for being able to wait until the new shipment arrived!  At least they were nice enough to tell you that it was on the way.

And who is this person 700 miles north of you that boots?  I don't know anyone that  far away from you.  If you need me to do something about this mysterious boot bender I shall!  Now, I do have this problem with this person around 300 miles away that is causing all the walls to smell a bit weird...  And it was beginning to make the air really hot.  I need someone to help airbend the heat away!  Halp!!

ScythicKitty In reply to marmiz [2014-09-03 04:03:21 +0000 UTC]

I had no idea what Mighty Muggs were until I googled them! They do look somewhat familiar, though I don't know if I'm just mixing them up with other Marvel toys. It looks like something my sister and brother in law would have liked though! Too bad they're discontinued. I agree, they probably are worth quite a bit now! I know for vinyls that came out several years ago are now worth ~$300 (and the low end ones, even though you buy them for ~$14, they become only $4 or less when you resell them). Actually, my super cute Handsome Sausage Dog one was only $3, new in box from the Disney World in Florida! It is fun to collect though. I showed Reen our collection the other day, and she said they looked like an army! So many marching together! And like you said, waiting to see what designs come out next is fun too. I guess we're fortunate that we live reasonably close to Disneyland, so we can actually get limited edition release day ones if we want them. (And of course stop by Wonderland Gallery too, I love all the styles in there! I must stea- incorporate more!)

Ah, yes yes, you're right, it is 300 miles. All this horrible utot smog someone put up there created this mirage that that certain someone was much further. Goodness! I hope this said mysterious boot bender stops boot bending so much! The whole place is start going to look like underchin jiggle, between all the boot bending rainbows out of airplanes, mirages, skymantles from the ground, wall peeling, and poison boot butts! Goodness! We need to get to the bottom of this. We can't have the whole world beautiful! Only hipsters want a beautiful, eco-friendly world! Thighsters want uh... uh... hey! Get offa mah drip-system organically-certified lawn!

I don't know how much some of the more expensive Mighty Muggs are worth now, but I don't know if any are in the $300 range.  Maybe some of the limited edition ones... I think most resell in the teens maybe?  I don't know.  I have the ones I like.  I also have these nice little cancer lead figurines that I really like I don't think are worth anything (and are also discontinued... probably because all the lead).  As you said, it's nice to have this little army at my disposal!!!  Mwahahaha!!!

This boot bender you speak of.  I've heard they use their boots to not only cast a deadly miasma several hundred miles north, but use it bend time and space so distance is irrelevant and seems much further.  We do need to get to the bottom of this!  And quickly!!!  But... wouldn't getting to the bottom of it make it even worse?  I don't know if I can handle that.  I tried to once when I came upon said boot bender and it shattered my mind into an infinite number alternate realities.  Each one created more thighster than the last.  A vast thighster nightmare with endless chants to get hipsters off the grassy area in front of their homes.

Cancer lead figurines! Wow what a steal! Those are truly wonderful toys to have. Just remember to make sure you are over the age of 3 years because of choking hazard before you play with them! That is the only potential danger I can see with them! Which Mighty Muggs do you have? Do you have a picture of them? Also I recently saw a post (on Kotaku...so maybe take this with a grain of salt) about someone who got some of the Marvel series from Disney Infinity, and they said sadly for the most part, the paint job is really sloppy on those. That is very disappointing. Have you seen them? Anyways that just reminded me of the Mighty Muggs, though the Mighty Muggs don't seem to have that problem! They are better as collectibles!

No! Really? That is terrible! Think of the poor polar bears! When YOU! send boots up there, they don't appreciate that luxurious warmth! Everyone else is going eco-green-organic-local-friendly, but not YOU!. Such a total hipthighunderchinjigglester. And these alternate realities you speak of, do any of them involve cities with beers and meats and illiterate people demanding halp plz? And perhaps another in a realm of rainbow colored youth defeating evil pinchy ghosts of Wu Feng? I think I've visited those places before. We've both been victims of YOU! Oh the woes! Though I must admit these alternate thighster realities with the grassy gassy chants are quite enjoyable.

These are great vinyls.I like them all, especially Donald as the Organ Player,as well as the toppers.

I questioned Pete as the Opera Singer.Doesn't really fit him.I could see him as the Executioner Ghost or even a singing bust. Those would be better.

Thanks! I really like Donald too. His top hat just looks so snazzy. We actually bought 14 blind boxes so we could get hopefully get Daisy and Donald, and I think we ended up with 5 Donalds. (along with 5 Goofys, 1 Pete, and 1 Daisy, then we just left 2 unopened for a friend).

I also don't feel like the Opera Singer really fit it. I agree that the Executioner Ghost would have been more fitting (or even one of the hitchhickers). We probably would have kept him then! It just didn't look quite right. (We also don't like Pete as much as a character, so that didn't help! XD)

Yeah. That's cool you got all of them. Was one of them a chaser?I don't know what or if there was a chaser to that series.

ScythicKitty In reply to GovernorSam [2014-08-25 00:57:33 +0000 UTC]

I don't believe this set has a chaser (or any variants), though it would be nice if it did! I think it's a fun theme for Mickey and his friends to dress up as. I suppose if there was a chaser and we wanted it, we probably would have ended up buying 25 boxes just to get them all. XD We recently got a few of the Animation 5 blind boxes, but unfortunately didn't get Fix it Felix. I feel like with some of the series, we just have the worst luck! I think we went through over 20 boxes for Animation 4 before getting Wreck it Ralph! ^^

It does look like a fun series.I'm sorry you didn't get Felix, but maybe you'll find it soon.I was blessed enough to get Ralph on my third box(and I got the Hydra on my second). That's probably because I did a lot of praying beforehand.

hopefully I'll be able to get Felix once my friend gets them for me.I only have enough for three boxes, and if I don't get Felix I'm going to be disappointed.I'm not as big on this Animation Series. :/

Nice! What did you get in your first box? That's cool that you got your favorites all so quickly.

There's quite a few from this series that we like, but I agree that there are some choices that would have been more appealing in general. Good luck on getting Felix! I hope you do!
