Description A picture of Yosemite Falls in California, which are apparently approximately 2,425 feet tall. It looks all sunny and warm but it was actually quite cold! When we got closer to the lower waterfall, it was near impossible to take a close-up picture because the wind kept blowing the water into the camera. Also my face was freezing. So alas, a picture from the distance is what I have.

Everyone should visit this park at some point! It's really pretty! And really big. I think it's like almost the size of three Hong Kong's put together.

I agree that it is an absolutely gorgeous place! I love how lush and green everything is, with the beautiful streams, fresh air, and imposing mountains around. Even though we've been there several times, it's always so awe-inspiring each visit.

I think the spring, summer, and early fall would be wonderful there. So much beauty, wildlife, and fresh air! The hiking is great too. But in the winter, it'll be too cold for me haha! We went there for winter vacation once, and as gorgeous as it was, it was difficult to appreciate for someone who grew up in warm/hot weather! Me and my sister just wanted to go back inside the cabin and be warm again. XD

Nope! Northern California actually! Hong Kong does certainly have a lot of greenery in certain areas and mountainsides though, so not a bad guess.

Whoa its so pretty *_*. Is there like a little lake at the bottom? Was the water super loud?

There wasn't a lake, but there was kind of a river thing at the bottom! The water wasn't too loud, not compared to Niagara Falls.

ooo i don't think I've seen a water in person yet hmm *writes it in my things to do list* Did you see any wildlife up close on your visit?

Oh you must see a waterfall some time! A big one too! They are very majestic and feels like someone sneezed cold spit all over your face.

I saw a very scrawny, scruffy, dirty deer with a lonesome face! If deers had hobos, this would be a hobo deer. It was trying to cross the road. But that was it. Nothing else really stood out, unless you count humans as wildlife.

The last time before this picture I went to Yosemite was before digital cameras became popular! So it was nice going there again last year. We camped the first time (Well, kind of camped... like we got a cabin thingie, not a tent, as it was too cold to be in a tent!) but the second time we just stopped by the park for like two hours (one of those hours was just driving into and out of the park) from one of those Asian tour things that tour the San Francisco area and some places along the way, like Hearst Castle and Solvang. Have you ever camped at Yosemite before?

Ooh<33 wow come to think of it digital cameras have been around for like ever now though *___* Awww~ their cabins are so cute! I've only stayed in cabin once in Yellow Stone, and I never camped before but it looks like fun! Cold though... And I always wondered where you would use the restroom or shower *___* Mosquitoes were never my friend either.... ><
Ohh! The Asian Tours~! Those are interesting *__* lol. I always get annoyed when I visit a location and there's all these tour busses--- means a huge line at the restroom and Kodak picture places. But it's fun when you connect w/ people on the bus when you're one of the people on the tour~ Although, the one I attended with my family, they were filled with "old" people. ( In reality though, one couple was like in their early 20's but when you're a kid, everyone who's not your age looks old ^^")

Yep! It's a shame digital cameras didn't come out sooner, or we'd have a lot more photos, but I guess the traditional ones where you have to wait for the film are extra-cherished! With digital cameras, it's just like SPAAAAM of pictures, while for traditional, you really had to make each one count!

Oh mosquitoes are terrible! Especially when we go back to Hong Kong and it's so humid! Apparently I'm very tasty. Ahh so itchy! Do you ever get that when you go to Taiwan?

In some parts of Africa, where they don't have electricity, for their toilet-stall-buildings (basically a permanent porta-potty made of bricks and stone), to help control the mosquitoes, they keep the entire toilet dark except for one small hole at the top, where the light comes in. Hopefully the mosquitoes will be attracted to the little light and fly out and not stay in the dark bathroom! But I'd imagine the ventilation would be horrible!

Oh I totally know what you mean about the Asian tour buses and the massive line at the bathroom! Of course the women's room is jam packed while the men's is just sparsely populated. Tour guides also tend to discourage you going on the tour bus one too. If anything, they're often locked.

Hehe old people! I also used to think that people over 20 were old! I was really bad at telling ages apart as a kid, so if they're over 20, they might as well have been 40! XD

I love digital cameras cause you can take so many pictures w/o feeling guilty cause you don't have to develop them. But I guess that's a con in itself, cause now it's like a pain to develop them. I don't know about you but I kinda miss going to those photo places, and toss in the film. (Sometimes the stores in LA where we used to develop them would have special discounts where you develop X amount of film and you can get a larger print of a picture for free<3)

Ick mosquitoes. Apparently I'm tasty too, but my mom doesn't get a stung badly grr... So my aunts kid that mosquitoes like foreign taste. haha. And they describe my leg as a red bean creamcicle. >< Cause it'll be covered in purple, black dots where they bit me.

Those are some scary restrooms in Africa. x___x My mom described something like that in another foreign country too... I can't imagine going to use the restroom in those places. My history professor I think mentioned how someone had some heart attack or something and died on those kindas of toilets... and he fell in... >< He finished the story w/ "Now that's a crappy way to die" oy...

Why is it the men's side of the restroom always goes so much faster >< I remember when I was young, my dad would be able to sneak me in the mens restroom when I had to go really bad. haha. I was kinda upset to see the restroom wasn't so different. Oh that reminds me, yday I was in the restroom in Tutor, and there was someone in the stall... so I was like okay no big deal, but then once I was in the stall, the person started talking and it sounded like a MAN. >< he/she/it was ordering an omelet ...
Another lady in heels entered in, and once she heard the voice, she exited her stall and walked out. Soo.... weird. So I ran out too. haha.
I'm totally a bad judge at age. X__x It wasn't until I was in the 20's that I realize that hey 20 year olds aren't too old. haha. It's kinda hard to imagine that before people lived to like 50 was considered long life >< Now my professor has like all these friends that are 95 years old and they're all pretty much norms. Makes you wonder though if that's good :/

Oh yes, digital cameras are most wonderful! But I never want to delete anything, even sometimes if they're blurry... I mean, if I got room on my computer, why not keep it right? XD Supposedly the non-digital cameras (professional grade) are better quality than even the top digital ones, but really, only professionals can even tell the difference. My sister took this class with some apparently reknowned (in the photography word) photographer, and she said there's so many ways you can pose people and adjust things that honestly, normal people don't notice at all in the picture, but photographers will. ^^ For me, I'll stick to just plain old digital cameras and that's good enough for me! But I do miss when back in the day, we'd stop by Costco and await the photos to develope...then gripe over the ones that came out bad hehe. Lots of blinking! But it made photos more precious too, since there's no do-overs.

Red bean creamsicle for mosquitoes! Cute! (and horribly itchy I bet haha) In my malaria class, we're just all about teh joys of mosquitoes, yum yum! We can be tasty together! Apparently they're developing loads of mosquito killing technology right now. Like there's a laser beam that can identify male vs female mosquitoes (and differentiate against other bugs too) and shoot lasers at them! Also, there's fungal sprays that you can spray that affects mosquitoes only and they die within a day or two of landing where that fungus was sprayed. And still yet, Bti cultures in coconuts work too! Very interesting stuff. Haha that reminds me of that quote, "Why didn't Noah swat the two mosquitoes?" XD

Oh that's horrible to die in one of those toilets! They're dark, stinky, and scary! I've heard stories of people traveling to mountain villages and having second thoughts of using the restroom because it just smells SO bad! And dying in there...oh man. >.< I heard in the US, some house was built on unstable land and while a girl was playing in the backyard, it caved in and somehow she ended up in a clogged sewage line or something. Apparently it seriously burned... If they weren't so quick at getting her out, she would have died in a very poopy way. Literally.

Guys are probably faster at the toilet, since for one thing, most of them don't wash their hands after going right? And some girls take longer since they're on their period and have to change their pad/tampon. Oh! And babies! I don't think male restrooms often have the diaper changing station, but the female one almost always does right? My dad also used to take me to the guy's restroom when I was small. ^^ Actually just last month, me and my sister were tempted to use the male one since whoever was in the female one was taking ultra long! (We ended up not using it though because a guy came up behind us right when we were about to open the door XD)

Woah, some person was ordering an omelette in the bathroom stall? Hopefully she just had a cold and sounded like a man... But that is kinda wierd indeed!

Me too! Back in elementary school, I used to think 20 year olds were soooo old (I probably thought that 40 year old people were 20 ^^), and now I see that 20 year olds potentially look younger than 15 year olds. Back in the 1950's, 60 year olds were pretty old already weren't they? Little old ladies with hair tied in a bun and old balding men, but now, with better nutrition and healthcare, 60 year olds don't look bad at all! If they upkeep themselves, you might say they're like in their 40s.

But you're right- even with longer life, that's not always good. Obvious problem is overpopulation, but doesn't everyone want to live a longer life? But does that life have dignity in it? I mean, we can prolong someone's life for quite a bit nowadays, but if they're just bedridden with catheters everywhere and on pain meds 24/7, overally miserable and barely hanging on, is that life? I guess it's up to each individual to decide if a long life is for them. :/

I always liked those fancy black cameras that you have to carry bunch of lens & such hehe. I think you can just randomly snap a photo w/ those & it'll turn out nice, no matter what. But I'm content w/ my little camera(: I think I abuse its battery though, from looking at the pic I take instantly oops~!! Photography class sounds awesome though, was your sister in charge of taking family photos & everything?
Hmm...isn't it dangerous to shoot lasers at bugs *___* Like what if you accidently shoot a beam at a human? D: I loved the technology Taiwan had for mosquitoes~ it's like a tennis racket thing that has a current going through it -perhaps you've seen it? & it ZAPS mosquitoes when they pass through it. puhaha! Hm... but there must be a reason mosquitoes exist in the world... ><
Oh my... I've never heard of the girl that fell in a sewage line... gosh >< I saw a news report though, about a girl (poor females!) she's walking back home from school on a side walk & the whole thing caved in under her D: Apparently there was a mudslide underneath the sidewalk and it was empty underneath, just waiting for some unlucky person to walk by to cave. =[
EWWW. GUY'S DON'T WASH THEIR HANDS?? probably though huh... I think guys restroom are the most awkward things... the urinals are always close by (so I've heard...>>) & it's like do you converse then?? Maybe it's just me, but it feels weird talking in the restroom. (people on cells drive me insane...& I feel bad when I flush...) haha. good thing you guys didn't go in the restroom~!
Mhmm~I definitely consider 40 yr olds still quite young now haha especially now people are living to like 90's. It's so hard to image way back, not even so long actually life expectancy was 50's? Its so sad though how it's society favors more of the aged man than woman. Like you see all the male actors that are like 60+ & they can still be paired with young actresses in late 20's -.-"
Hmm...I don't think anyone would want to be miserable w/ their pain meds & catheters =[[ when they're that old... but then what can they do? I remember this girl in my writ 340 did a report on euthanasia & how she was pro for it... My first instinct was still like shock, but idk, if they have consent... :/ so hard to image though. Ahh... keeps reminding of my depressing global warming class. =[
*turns on Disney cd & watch happy Doctor Who*
Oh did I mention I am now utterly completely in love w/ Doctor Who... haha. I have to say "doctor" in a British accent now

Oh! Those big fancy black cameras! My sister has one! But even though to me, the pictures already look great, she says she edits almost all her pictures to make them look extra good, like brightening them, sometimes a bit of photoshop to remove pimples, color adjustment, cropping, etc. I guess it all comes with her work.

Since I haven't been carrying my real camera around with me, I've just been using my super-low-resolution 3DS camera haha. It works! Definitely not the best (it doesn't even focus after all) but if I need to take pictures of a textbook or something, it does its job.

Supposedly the machine won't shoot the beam at humans... it only registers female mosquitoes of a certain species, so it's supposed to be safe, but like with all technology, accidents can happen. Even laptops overheating on a kid's thigh and giving them second or third degree burns without them realizing it! I think they were playing WoW while wearing shorts for several hours, and their laptop had a lot of dust in it and so it got really hot, but since it was spread over the whole day instead of immediately hot, he didn't realize he was getting burned.

How scary! I would hate to just be walking along and then the sidewalk caves in! Especially some areas where there aren't a lot of people on the road. Like if I was in the car and saw a big hole in the sidewalk, I wouldn't stop to peek over to see if someone was inside, especially if I had my windows up and couldn't hear. I'm glad it turned out ok for her!

Nope, guys don't wash their hands! Well, a few do, but for the most part, they don't (unless they're pooping, but for #1, they don't. They don't even use toilet paper!). I was quite horrified when I found out, but all you can hope is that the guys we hang out with and shake hands- let's hope they wash their hands.

Phones in the bathroom don't bother me too much...but I just hope that whoever is on the other side of the phone is close to that person because wouldn't it be awkward if you're like, calling your research professor or something, and then you suddenly really, really had to pee, then you headed off for the bathroom and have to flush? Talk about embarrassing. XD How do you feel about stall conversations? Like say two friends are deep in a conversation before heading to the bathroom, then just continue while they're in there... I don't mind listening, but if I'm the one talking, sometimes it feels kinda awkward since you can totally hear yourself and the other person going and you're both just blatantly ignoring it. But what can we do when nature calls? Au natural.

Wow that tennis racket mosquito thing sounds awesome! But what if you put a human hand in there? What happens to it?

Mosquitoes can be useful... their larvae feed a lot of fish and adults can feed many reptiles, bats, and birds. My fish adore eating mosquito larvae! It's a super treat!

In general, society favors males right? They still have higher pay, and the double standard thing with being a good dad vs providing for the family isn't as exaggerated for them as for women. Especially in the US where women don't get paid leave or time off when they're pregnant, unlike in Europe. Then add that we're a minority here (not as bad in California, but head on over to the midwest or southern states...). But then when we go back to our "homeland," we still stand out because we're bananas haha. Never completely at home neh? Nothing is ever fair, but we can certainly count our blessings.

Euthanasia with consent is a tricky subject... and even more so when there isn't. So many controversies. Choices can make us less happy. Did I tell you about the France vs US study about happiness and the "choice" to put down your own vegetative baby or not?

Both ~izziraw and ~CloudandFeather really like Doctor Who too right? I never got into it...only saw one episode, but I totally get what you mean by wanting to say things with a certain accent. Like after some episodes of My Little Pony, it makes me want to talk with a trans-Atlantic accent. Mah-velous dah-lin, sim-plee fahboolus!
