Here's just a quick little doodle to submit for the Valentines exchange this year. So many space-themed Valentine sayings to go with... "You send me over the moon!" or "There's space in my heart for you!" or "I'm just mooning for you!" or "You're out of this world!" and it just keeps going on and on haha!Originally I was going to draw Shulk and Melia from Xenoblade and have it like "I'm really feelin' your friendship!" but that could be taken the wrong way so I went for this one instead.

Cute. I like Rosalina she's my favorite female character in the Mario universe. Her backstory, character, and relationship with the Lumas makes her interesting.

Thanks! I'm also really fond of Rosalina as a character. I wasn't expecting her story to be so sad when I was playing the game (especially paired with that music haha!), but that really added a sense of depth to the usual happy-go-lucky Mario characters.

Hm, that's a hard one! The hungry Luma is a good one! I also really like the sounds Lumas make when they're laughing (?), it's such a cute giggly noise! I hope they make a Super Mario Galaxy 3. There are such creative stages and wonderful music there, plus Lumas and Rosalina are awesome! I enjoyed Super Mario 3D Land/World but it just doesn't feel as much like a grand adventure and for some reason the music feels a little more flat.

That would be so awesome if they made a 3rd Mario galaxy. I do agree they were really well made with the thought out music and storyline. Yeah the mario 3d land/worlds just aren't the same...

I know! On one hand it's kind of sad to see them turn into something "lifeless" since you can't really talk to the planet any more, but on the other hand it's really nice to see them develop into something so grand and being able to take part in that!
My thoughts exactly. 3D Land/World are fine games but simply don't feel as grand of an adventure and somewhat "boxed" (probably because of the fairly layout of the levels), with much of the music not that memorable. I can see why they want to avoid SMG3 to not keep putting out "more of the same" (even though SMG has some of the best level designs!) but it would be nice to see Rosalina in a game again where she's not just an extra character.

That's true too, yeah it can be pretty sad but at least they become something grand all together.
Yeah, i think it's trying to get back into the feel of the old mario games in 3d but I agree that they're not that much fun... I think I beat the whole game in like a day? And then I never looked back on it since. At least with smg you have some difficulty put into it as well and there is much more beautiful music and the grand adventure to make it all so much more enjoyable.

Wow, you beat it in one day? Nice! I do agree though that some of these newer ones are on the short side... maybe it's just because we're older and getting better at beating these games, but I remember Super Mario 64 took forever to beat! And unlike now where we don't have as much time to play, back then we really did a lot more gaming and could spend more time on it. Super Mario 3D World/Land were on the short side and finished fairly quickly- too fast for my liking. The Galaxy series took longer (it feels like more bang for your buck, even if having 4 players was fun I admit) and just had a more epic feel to them, and less linear. There was more of an exploration aspect I feel like. Oh well, whatever happens I know I'll still buy the next installment of the main Mario series, whatever it may be! XD

They're a lot easier than I remember... And you're right with the fact they're really short too. :S I do agree that super mario 64 was hard. I still can't beat that game 100% perfect xD
Personally I prefer games with a long story mode that's amazing to play. I feel like even the storylines for games have gotten shorter too.

Oh definitely, beating Mario 64 100% perfect is going to take a lot of dedication and time haha! I haven't beaten that one yet either 100%, though I suppose I also haven't done a lot of the Mario games 100% in general. The newer ones it's more because I lose interest after awhile rather than difficulty though.
I also like those long story modes, but I end up getting so busy that I don't have time to play them consistently and end up forgetting what the story is about or the little side quests I am in the middle of doing. Games get so complex nowadays that if you miss a months of playing, you really forget a lot! XD With games like those I try to marathon them during my holiday breaks, and they are so enjoyable and the characters so likable! But you're right, a lot of games seem to have shorter stories and shorter campaigns- even the Call of Duty series which already wasn't a particularly long story! I was talking to someone earlier and they felt that many companies are pushing for beefing up their multiplayer games and leaving a lot of the solo gamers in the dust, skimping on the story and solo play more and more with each generation. 
Have you heard of the NX, Nintendo's next platform? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

Yeah... A lot of them I feel like the games are just becoming too repetitive and too short nowadays...

I agree, and I'm sure us just getting better at games in general and having higher standards doesn't help either. When I go back and replay some games, I realize they weren't as wonderful as I imagined and a lot shorter! Some games really haven't aged well haha! But admittedly when I go back to the Mario games, I still think they are more challenging and longer. I just replayed Super Mario Bros. 3 recently and that was for the NES, and it still feels longer than the recent Mario platformer games!
Supposedly Nintendo partnered with DeNA and will be making some mobile games now. Next year, they'll show us more information on the NX as well, which supposedly has a unified account for the 3DS and Wii U too (leading people to make rumors that it's both a home and portable console all in one). It's also supposed to be "revolutionary" but I don't know if they're just trying to build up hype or something. I'm excited to see what it is, but I feel like the Wii U just came out not that long ago so if it ends up being released in 2016 or 2017, I don't think I'd buy it right away unless there's something absolutely must-have about it...

Oh yeah! I tried playing super mario world for the snes and same thing I felt like that game was longer too!
That does sounds exciting! O.o Well I guess we'll have to wait and find out for ourselves what they plan to do with the NX. I'm really curious about this too.
