Description One of four variants of a modular rifle, Ive drawn all the internals and accessories but putting them all together on one sheet may take some time, but here is the first eighth (?) of the images for this one project. Foregrip, buttstock, upper receiver, and magwell are all changeable in order to allow for various different configurations and chamberings.

I'm not looking forward to coloring four more essentially identical images, that are just different enough to require reworking everything.

It looks good, but it's too flat :/ Is it Famas?

flat is good. the AR platform is fairly flat, and so is the FN FAL and the SIG 556, flat means you can have it on you a lot more comfortably, not as bulky and less fo a profile to give you away

Gonna have to commission you one of these days to design my character's pistols and "Cross Gun," if you remember Wolfwood from Trigun. And I need to sit down with you one day to talk about how that type of weapon could really work, cause it has been probably one of the most curious weapons that looks impractical, but could be practical in a fantasy/ sci fi setting anyway.

the ejection tab for the mag seems like it would be ackward to get to in a firefight, or even a range fire drill, how ever i do like that it is chambered in the 6.5, a greatly under appreciated round that is the happy middle between the accurate but soft hitting 5.56 and the heavy hitting but more wild 7.62 .

i like the bullpup design and it seems to borrow design from the Famas, a great rifle in its own right. The sight elevation above the barrel is a bit to high for my liking, but the M16 A4 i roll around with has the same issue with its iron sights any way.

i must say, normally when people design weapons and they dont use them on a daily bases or havent really trained with them. there are many flaws i find with them that just erk me. i find no such problems with this rifle.

hell, i'd be willing to give it a try IRL, it looks comfortable to hold and easy to sight in with

Thank you, and I agree, the sights are a bit high, but so are the sights on the M16A3 I based them off. Ive shot quite a bit in my time, but I'll admit since having a family and 'settling down' as it were I haven't had the opportunity to do so, so I'm glad I am still at least mostly on base with what is functional/comfortable to shoot. ^_^

The ejection tab attached to the mag well is actually merely a back up, there is (above the trigger guard)an ambidextrous forward mag release that acts on an internal wedge and transfer rod to the rear striker unit. The Magazine retent is actually part of the striker unit (which like the AUG or Tavor takes up a good portion of the lower rear buttstock), and when the transfer rod is forced rearward, so is the mag detent allowing it to drop free. The attached tab actually levers into the bottom of the actual mag detent (which is why the position of the pivot at the rear of the magwell seems so odd.)and forces it rearward when squeezed. This is probably better shown in an image (especially since its midnight locally) which is coming since the internals have all been drawn for this rifle, but may take some time to color. I am glad you brought it up though, lets me know people are willing to check me if I screw up lol.

what service did you enlist in at that time? and i see. the double releise would makes sense then

and i dont know about other people. I'm just that ass hole who does something like watches StarShip Troopers and just bitches about the lack of ironsights, how heavy it has to be and the uselessness of the body armor through all 3 movies XD

Ive never served, merely spent some time at the range over the years, and was lucky enough to have a relative who used to be a licensed class three dealer at the time.

I hear ya, Im so horrible about bickering at movies and games my wife has picked up the habit despite having only shot less than a handful weapons in her life.
