Description
I think this tutorial is a bit confusing, if you had advice for how to make it better or easier to understand please comment D:Point Perspective
Second: If you have not, please read the guide I made before this one for beginners:
Third: There are a million how to guides for point perspective, here are some you should look at after this tutorial:
BASIC: [link] (please remember not to over rely on connecting lines, remember to observe around you!)
BASIC-INTERMEDIATE: [link]
ADVANCED:[link]
----------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not sure how well received this tut will be, it's vastly more complicated than my other tutorials and as such my point doesn't seem to be very crystallized. What I wanted to get across was that vanishing points are vital to understanding perspective, but they are also not the be-all end all to a successful perspective drawing.
The best way to learn is always observe to reinforce the laws and learn when you need more. Parallel lines never cross prematurely nor do they avoid each other. But the entire world isn't made of 1 2 or even 2 point perspectives. If you can't observe the world correctly i don't know if the guides will help I guess.

Hey fyi i marked this unfair because a critique should have some negative points you would like to see improved, you should leave all positive stuff to comments
Otherwise thanks so much for your comment!! I'm so glad it's helpful. I remember doing perspective in class and feeling the same way. It's so much easier to see it in front of you than following steps! I hope it helps your friends as well gosh <3<3

I noticed I was good enough at drawing
until I entered a paintchat with a a friend who happens to be crazy good at art :I
I realised I hadn't a darn clue about how perspective really worked.
Getting into an art course for next year and realising how I've missed out on something so important
makes me want to hit myself in a wall <.<
BUT, myΒ improvement is starting to show,
Β and I have to owe your tutorial in helping me improve

Aw thanks! It sucks to realize we have a long way to go, but the important part is making that realization and taking the steps to fix it and that's what you're doing so go you!

I am trying, but it's hard when you don't quite understand.
Yet, it really helped me. I guess I'm starting to get the hang of it.

x3Ryan [2012-08-14 06:57:17 +0000 UTC]
But why should we care about the vanishing point of an object?
How does that help us draw the object? (I bet I look like such a noob. xD)
π: 0 β©: 1
Shattered-Earth In reply to x3Ryan [2012-08-14 14:06:59 +0000 UTC]
Well if you don't know the vanishing point of an object how would you draw it getting smaller in the distance? If you don't know, how are we supposed to tell whats further and whats close in your drawing?
