Paul and I had discussed this while we were working Doctor Who: Fade Away. [link] This is the companion piece.

Paul Says: People who know our Brigadier tribute webcomic FADE AWAY [link] might remember how we said we had a "companion piece" in mind for Sarah Jane too. So here it is. I think we both needed some time to reflect before starting this one- Lis Sladen's death was such a shocker. Sarah Jane is the first Doctor Who companion I ever saw on TV (in "The Brain of Morbius"- a perfect intro to the show), so in many ways, she's "the original" companion to me. She was certainly one of the best, that's for damn sure. This is our attempt to give Sarah Jane's story a proper "grace note" that wasn't possible on TV.
For those who obsess over such things, this story takes place some months after the Doctor Who episode "The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe" and the Sarah Jane Adventures episode "The Man Who Never Was".

Looks good, so far. Just re-read Fade Away, and it has me teary-eyed again. Can't wait to see where this goes.
Just a question, though. Wouldn't nobody remember the Harold Saxon thing anyways? The Doctor did that whole "reverse time" thing, restoring the human population and preventing the Toclafane from killing humanity. The only ones would would remember would have been those on the airship.

Nope- Harold Saxon is remembered. Kinda. The end of THE LAST OF THE TIME LORDS established that everything that happened up to right before the mass Toclafane invasion stayed part of history. If I remember right, we hear dialogue over the ship's radio where UNIT asks what happened, and that they'd seen everything up to Winters being killed before the cameras cut out. Don't ask me where all the press corps who were on the ship then but not in the "new" present vanished to.
This is also backed up by THE END OF TIME, which is why the Master is donning a rubbish disguise, and even being recognized by homeless people as "that bloke who went crazy".

Lis passed away while we were in the middle of Fade Away. I still haven't been able to sit down and watch the last season SJA. Such a sad, sad thing.
