Oh please, take your time.
Whilst I'd love to read more of this on demand, Rules #5 and #19 of the universe are ever in play: Real life comes first and art should not be rushed.
I'll wait patiently for updates. Just know that you're being watched with interest.

.....Indeed, that last bit DOES sound somewhat creepy. It was not intended as such and I apologize....
And yes, I did psychically determine what you were thinking about it.
And yes, I CAN read your mind.

The number you're thinking of is "blue".

The thing is, Paul and I get asked a couple of times a month when we're going to finish this. Next year it's finally going to happen.

Actually, it's generally accepted that Sarah's 'death' in Hong Kong was erased by the events of 'Sometime Never...'

I think Duggan's broken bottle is my favourite of all those little nods you did...

Poor old Duggan. Someone, someday, will buy him a proper corkscrew.

Now this panel just has me curious which Doctor's TARDIS that was and what business he had on that occasion to be in an art gallery.

Curiouser and curiouser I'd venture...

Duggan ....not quite sure why didn't become a companion. Him, Four and Romana would have been the best team. Romana and Four being all clever and Duggan just punches the problem haha.

The whole "died in Hong Kong" thing is a reference to this: [link] It's largely been ignored since, but it DID happen in some earlier timeline. So don't worry- Sarah's fine. How Van Zandt found evidence of it is the more interesting question...

And who's the guy with grey hair in the first panel?

Yes. That's them running a con on John Cleese from The City of Death [link] The man in the first panel is Inspector Duggan from the same episode.

I was like - two teenage children? but then I forgot about Sky, they should bring back Sky in Doctor Who and make her a companion to the Doctor

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

PaulHanley In reply to KyleWhisper4 [2012-09-07 01:01:28 +0000 UTC]

Actually, I think Clyde would make a great companion. He played very well off Matt Smith in the one SJA story they had together.

ShawnVanBriesen In reply to PaulHanley [2012-09-07 13:47:14 +0000 UTC]

I thought that too. I re watched Death of the Doctor while researching this. Or at least have Clyde show up now and again.

ShawnVanBriesen In reply to KyleWhisper4 [2012-09-06 20:58:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I just watched those last few episodes of SJA. It seemed like they were going somewhere with Sky.

LaSirenOfEire In reply to ShawnVanBriesen [2012-09-07 00:50:26 +0000 UTC]

Don't know if you've seen the third volume of the SJA Companion magazine, but Sky was suppose to leave at the end of series 5 after it was revealed she's the child of the Trickster. Not sure how I feel about that one.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ShawnVanBriesen In reply to LaSirenOfEire [2012-09-07 12:31:45 +0000 UTC]

I've not seen that. I don't like that ending. Seems a bit naff.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

LaSirenOfEire In reply to ShawnVanBriesen [2012-09-07 21:14:05 +0000 UTC]

I agree. She's chooses to fight against her father, though, something about keeping guard over a dimension portal to prevent him from coming back. It was odd. Clyde and Rani also would have been exiting.

It's interesting that originally it was suppose to be the Doctor who brought Sky to Sarah, but Matt was unavailable to film at the time.

Aww. That's sad. I loved the episode he was in with Katy Manning.

LaSirenOfEire In reply to ShawnVanBriesen [2012-09-09 18:07:55 +0000 UTC]

So did I. The entire magazine was pretty cool to read. And sad. All the storylines they had thought of doing were mentioned- from a possible Tom Baker appearance to another appearance from Jo and even Ace. Wow, I'm depressed now. Do you know what would help? Another wonderful piece of this stoy from you two. Thanks so much for all the hard work you guys are putting into this.

Icon-UK In reply to ShawnVanBriesen [2012-09-07 20:02:25 +0000 UTC]

It seemed to be more promising than just that. She would have the powers of the Trickster, but had the lessons in selflessness that Sarah-Jane had given her so she would overcome his nature.

So Sky would have aged again, and left the series as a sort of the anti-Trickster, dedicating her existence to making sure he never returned (and he wouldn't have, a new "big bad" was being thought up for the next season, a puppet-master sort of a baddie).

ShawnVanBriesen In reply to Icon-UK [2012-09-07 20:10:50 +0000 UTC]

That sounds pretty decent. Honestly, it was rather difficult watching the last few episodes for me.

And they never will, as far as the show is concerned, Sarah-Jane, Luke, Sky, Clyde, Rani, Maria, K-9 and Mr Smith are all still out there, saving the Earth with efficiency, grace and style.

Russell T Davies has mentioned he'd talked with Lis Sladen, before knowing how ill she was, that when the show ended it would always have been his intention for Sarah-Jane to leave Earth and go out into the stars again in her own right, leaving her family (official and unofficial) to continue her work on Earth.

👍: 0 ⏩: 3

PaulHanley In reply to Icon-UK [2012-09-08 00:44:38 +0000 UTC]

Yep- and I agree that's the ending Sarah should get. I read the same comments in the Lis Sladen memorial issue DWM put out, so they were definitely factored in when I wrote this.

KyleWhisper4 In reply to Icon-UK [2012-09-07 20:44:46 +0000 UTC]

well, if thats the case, long live sarah jane. i just hope we hear more from rani, clyde, luke, maria, and sky in Doctor Who, maybe we can wait about 10 years, they will guest star in the show, older obviously, and maybe the Doctor got a permit from the judoon that they can leave earth but with his supervision (obviously maria and sky wont need the permit)

Good old, RTD. That's probably for the best. Like Paul says below. There's really no need for it.
