nah....i like being able to see the strokes a little- gives it a nice texture. if you used more colors, then you could probably get a smoother skin tone, but i like it like that. it's really not that hard to do...i think once you do it a couple times and play with it, it gets easier. it's just a lot of repetiton of mixing, picking up, and making sure you don't use high opacities when you put down the color. ^^ i hope it helps you out a little!
