Pretty sure I just laughed hysterically at the little dragon character at the end. I don't know why.

How did you get that tale fade out?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Shinerai In reply to Pigcurrant [2011-07-20 16:59:50 +0000 UTC]

The dragon was on a separate layer: above the background and below the texture. I simply used the eraser and erased very lightly to get it to lighten up. Then I used the blur tool to blur it c:

This is great! I've always liked how your pictures have textures. ^^

Are the textures just big pictures you found or are they from a texture site?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Shinerai In reply to Karasuki [2010-07-01 20:51:17 +0000 UTC]

thanks!

it's kinda dangerous to just use pictures you found due to copyright laws. but there are plenty of texture websites like Mayang, CGTextures, and Textureking (you should be able to "i'm feeling lucky" google those). It's also pretty easy to take your own pics c: AND there are plenty of people on DA who offer textures for free use

I have always admired your style and love the textures that give a settle variation and interest to your work without distracting from the focal point. Ive been around a while and watching with our really commenting. I need materials and tutorials for archive file for my architectural drawing class. I'm still looking for marker tutorials and looking for your gallery if you happen to have spare time and feel like for filling a random request more tutorials of any media would be awesome. ......lol not that anyone would take requests from a random stalker X . x i mean..... watcher... XP

Awesome tutorial! I definitely learned something from all this

I have a question though o.o...
How did you make your photoshop all black? It looks so awesome and I was wondering if I could do that too.

Is that a downloadable skin for PS or did you just edit it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Shinerai In reply to Quiiver [2010-06-01 17:51:21 +0000 UTC]

oh, since my computer uses the windows classic theme (lol 90s), i edited the colors to be black and red. so this affects photoshop too :'D

AsheNightwind [2010-05-28 03:34:38 +0000 UTC]

Very helpful, but one question: Can you make it so that the texture only shows on one part of the picture? For example, I don't want an entire picture to have a denim texture, just the pants. Is that possible?
