Description
Ok, since our dear had some interesting experiments about casting resin and having it metallic coloured here ( [link] and [link] ) I thought I should try it too. I tried it yesterday, didn't quite work. After a long conversation over the phone with him I decided to try again today, with a few extra approaches. Here they are.And Ken! Post stuff on DA, please!!!!

Nice
I am experimenting with similar things too (for my WoW dagger handle), and with mixing various paints into resin, because I really don't want to pay that much for resin dyes. >_>

well, resin dyes are not that expensive. At least not here. Also, You can buy small and concentrated bottles of resin colours from hobby shops that sell colours for making gems. I remember buying translucent red from Budapest, but I don't remember the price (maybe it was around 4 euros). It was from a place inside a mall near the Danube, called Duna Haza, if I remember well. They seemed rather big, I am sure they have an online shop.

I know that shop, but I don't really want to pay 5 euros (that's their price now) for a 10 ml bottle. With all the colors I need (we want to start selling pony/neko accessories sets in different colors), it would be too much.
I asked a local paint shop, and they recommended one of their paints (originally it's not for resin, they mix it in the shop), and I tried it today. I think it's worked, but I want to make some more experiments tomorrow, just to make it sure, before I post photos about the results. It would be nice if it could work, because it's much cheaper than resin dyes from the creative stores (around 1 euros for the same amount, it makes a bit difference for me in my current finacial situation).

well, if you need more colours, then indeed it can be a big hole in the pocket. "we" want to start selling pony accesories? who is we? Did you also resin cast your horn and ears? I couldn't tell from the photo.

Hehe, almost anything hobby related here is in Hungarian, too. Most of them are brought from Hungary.
