Honestly this design sits poorly with me.
It seems more an updated or copied A-wing than what it is purported to be.
While the technique and skill in the execution of the ship is wonderful, the design itself is honestly rather boring and seems to take too much from existing ships to really stand out as its own design. Instead it seems to linger beneath the shadow of already established designs without adding anything noticeably new to the lines of the vessel.
A more interesting approach perhaps would have been to take this design as a re-imagining of an existing vessel rather than something entirely new in an established design lineage.
Overall, the technique of the piece is as wonderful as ever but we see very little of the established creativity that exists in so many other works of the by the artist.

Essentially, the ETA-4 is the A-Wing of the Father and Son of the Suns infinities setting, with a couple of notable differences. The first is that it carries an astromech droid instead of a navigational computer, and the second is that it was designed to be armed with concussion missiles, which were added onto subsequent A-Wing generations. Be that as it may, this design was intended to be similar to the A-Wing. Not very creative I suppose, but it is what Adam provided in this commission, and it works perfectly fine for me.

this is a great piece of art. you know what you're doing. I like the cannons an the droid slot. the color scheme is good as well. you put a lot of detail into your works as far as I have seen. well, I guess that's why you're on my watch list. I just noticed the ventilator fins. nice touch. The ship is also surprisingly symmetrical. It actually looks like a star wars ship, an area many fan artists fail with. Also, the credit to Lucas films is a nice touch. The statistics also make it worthy of that one star wars card game.

Can you do some paintings of X-Wing vs. TIE-Fighter/X-Wing Alliance(PC games) ship database ships?

This looks like it might have benn inspired by the V-wing.

If there is Eta-4 will there be Eta-5 in this universe too? Just asking.

Around 30 years after the Battle of Endor, there is an Eta-10.

the engines remind me of Star Wars: The Old Republic Republic scout Fighters

Awesome as ever! Adamkop really knows how to channel the StarWars aesthetic these days, doesn't he?
How much input do you have into the design process for the works you commission? The reason I ask is because as acebird1234 mentions, it looks quite similar to the A-Wings. I think I'd personally have shortened the engines by removing the thrust vectoring rings and tucking the bulk of them under the hull, and then mirrored the cockpit/nose "hood" out toward the rear to simulate the aft fin that the old Aethersprite fighters and Venator/Acclamator cruisers had -- just to reinforce that it's a Kuat Systems design. (the extended rear fin hull would give a bit more protection for that poor Astromech, too )

Honestly, Adam gives me quite a bit of freedom regarding changes and alterations to the commission requests. Acebird is not wrong regarding engines, and that piece was intentional with respect to the ETA-4. As Jan Dodonna and his team never design the A-Wing in the Father and Son of the Suns setting, a team within Kuat Systems Engineering decides to radically change the lineage of design for the ETA series for the Galactic Republic... and embarks on the creation of better-armed, slightly more durable interceptor. The ETA-4 is the result of that.

Good point, hadn't really considered what the timeline changes might do in terms of effects on the various industrial players

It's really interesting see how you managed to figure out what the ETA series would end up in this timeline, and it looks awesome.
