Ahhh, It's been a while since I've drawn Nene... I love Nene, she's a character I'm really attached to, so I was really happy when Noir asked me to draw her again!

Nene has developed a lot over the years, in both character and appearance, I have big plans for her and Rena, once I get my Cintiq Graphics Tablet I'll begin working on both R AND Project Mauser, look forward to her story!

Project Mauser, and Nene in particular, is heavily inspired by Music, from classic rock, to heavy metal, to punk, and beyond... I love the characters because they're all based on music I love.

I love Nene's sense of style, her asymetrical hairstyle and the dyed tips are both punky and elegant at the same time... At least, that's the look I'm aiming for anyway...

I decided to give Nene a Ziggy Stardust shirt here, she always wears rock shirts, I picked a Ziggy shirt specifically because Nene admires David Bowie for openly adressing the question of his sexuality prior to the release of Ziggy Stardust, a question Nene herself struggled with as a teenager, over time she's grown to embrace herself.
Also that shirt looks freakin' awesome.

I like how her eyes came out, they're strong, much like Nene herself, although she does have vulnerabilities...
Also, she sucks lolipops because of an old smoking habit.

I love her lips too... I think lips are a very important feature in manga, overlooked too often.

It's kind of sketchy, but I like how this came out, I like the little imperfections, and the sketchiness suits Nene.
I didn't have any dark green for her jacket so I had to make it by first colouring it in purple, and then applying a light green on top... I'm a resourceful man when I need to be!
