Description

As the influence of Golgom spread across Elysium , so too did the Geister Riders , the cult's champions who fought and schemed for power in the Great Gegeru. Many of these Riders were orphaned children raised by Golgom to believe in the cult's mythology, but others were converts who became convinced of the divine truth of the Book of Golgom — or simply opportunists who agreed with the cult's cruel might-makes-right ideals and feigned belief in the tales of the Black Sun and Shadow Moon.

  • Pete Harley — Geister Rider Lycos. A loud-mouthed but charismatic self-help guru, PR manager and con-man, Pete Harley was recruited by Golgom to be one of the faces of their recruitment strategy. To this end, Harley threw lavish, open parties where he preached the virtues of indulgence and excess, freely giving away resources like real animal meat — which had become impossible luxuries beneath the Aegis Dome — to any who would attend. Harley used these gatherings to read from the Book of Golgom, evangelizing with the gospel of the Black Sun and Shadow Moon; but when he attempted to convince Roger Chaumet to "return to the fold", Roger transformed into Luxe Miserables and attacked him. Though Harley used his Geister Rider form to fight back, he had neither Roger's combat experience nor his fury at a life of neglect and manipulation, and Harley was killed by Luxe's Guillotine Cleaver.
Though Harley was granted a Geister Driver and a Gene Vial containing the DNA of various spider species, his only use for the Rider belt was to show the people of Elysium the kind of power that they could attain if they followed Golgom's teachings. While "Geister Rider Lycos" was physically powerful and armed with an array of abilities, including manifesting a pair of daggers from quantum foam, Harley's role as a propagandist rather than a fighter meant he was unaware of his capabilities, and unable to call on them in his fight against Luxe Miserables.

  • Christophe Gautier — Geister Rider Elapix. A low-level but ambitious executive at Soleil d'Or, Christophe Gautier saw Golgom as an opportunity to "get in on the ground floor" and raise his own status. As "Geister Rider Elapix", he was assigned along with Geister Rider Xiphos to run security for Herman Scrugg , a Golgom collaborator who had very publicly antagonized Elysium's Contract Rider community. Unfortunately for Elapix, when a team of Riders infiltrated the Adonis Corporation facility where he was stationed, he was easily beaten and his Driver sliced off by the combined efforts of Contract Rider Luxe Miserables and Contract Rider Heracles .
Gautier's Rider equipment previously belonged to one of the Century King candidates raised under Golgom's yoke, but had been stripped from them as a punishment for failing Golgom. Elapix's Gene Vial contained an amalgamation of snake DNA, primarily from cobra species, granting him a high level of agility and the ability to create a vicious whip from quantum matter.

  • Pendek — Geister Rider Pendek, Delia Wojcik — Geister Rider Stenella, Gyps — Kamen Rider Gyps, and Horace Hoarse — Geister Rider Horse. A group of particularly obnoxious Golgom thugs consisting of both indocrinated "Golgom children" Pendek and Gyps and later recruits Stenella and Horse, these Geister Riders were among the attendees of a fighting game tournament held at the bar Magillicuddy's . After Onca — a former Geister Rider who had recently had her powers stripped from her in a humiliating loss to Contract Rider Wyvern — lost in her match against Mari Posada , the other Golgom adherents became enraged that a "weakling" like Onca was acting like she was still entitled to live after multiple losses; caught up in their own twisted ideology, they transformed into their Geister Rider forms and attacked, intending to kill Onca for her failure.
The group were prevented from killing Onca by Contract Riders Papillon Full Spectrum, Drachenloch Dolmen, and the newly-awakened power of Black DX , who managed to beat Gyps and Stenella into submission. Unfortunately, the Geister Drivers that the Golgom followers wore contained a hidden mechanism; announcing "Cast Out!", the belts electrocuted their defeated wearers, killing them rather than let them live with their loss. Seeing this, Dolmen was able to tear the Driver off of Horse before it could kill him — but Pendek, recognizing that his foes would be victorious, chose to willingly submit to a superior enemy and manually activated his belt's Cast Out function, killing himself.
Pendek, Stenella, Gyps and Horse each had their own Geister Driver and Gene Vial, the latter containing orangutan, cetacean, vulture, and equine DNA, respectively. Each had their own quantum manifestation abilities; Stenella and Horse summoned serrated swords and half-ring knuckledusters, while Gyps could create a pair of wings that allowed him to fly short distances, and Pendek could distort his arms to inhuman lengths.

    HORSE

So, these guys are all one-shot villains from the campaign, obviously. Lycos and Elapix having spider and cobra motifs references the classic "spider, bat, cobra" trinity of Kamen Rider mooks, and was intended as a misdirect to imply that Wyvern would end up taking their powers.

With the exception of Horse, these guys' suits were conceived as being "retools" of monster suits for humanoid Geisters that weren't shown — new heads and colours plus the Geister Driver onto a preexisting suit, which is why they use the same undersuits as the Common Geisters .

I originally had Lycos be named "Predator", but decided that wasn't the right flavour of cringe for Harley (who, incidentally, was "fan-cast" as Bob Odenkirk!). His design takes inspiration from both Xu-Gmun-Ba, the Spider Grongi, and the Spider Mutant from Kamen Rider Black — which is why, if you zoom in on his face, you'll see that his helmet has a horrible human nose. Yes, really. His suit's gold trim makes it look a bit more "luxurious" than the others, fitting his role as a propagandist.

Elapix is modeled after G.I. Joe villain Serpentor, with a Sentai-style "visor in mouth"; his name, Christophe Gautier, is taken from Chris Latta and Dick Gautier, the 80s cartoon voices of Cobra Commander and Serpentor, respectively. The fangs of the cobra frame a face, a la Kamen Rider Hibiki. He was originally more armoured, but that ended up making him look more like a leader than the "goon" he was supposed to be. Because of the way I ended up cutting it down he has armour solely on the insides of his thighs, which is really funny to me.

Pendek's crew were modeled on some of the most horrid and evil animals in nature — apes, dolphins, vultures and horses. Pendek's face and big neck-ring are based on the distinctive features of the Sumatran orangutan, while his horribly long arms were a spur of the moment decision during design; he's named after the Indonesian mythical creature Orang Pendek .

Stenella's design takes inspiration from whale falls and rotting carcasses, along with the shark Grongi Go-Jaaza-Gi; I thought it would be funny to have the animal's head on her helmet be looking "up". Her surname is taken from Jonathan "Bogleech" Wojcik, who is known for just absolutely loving dolphins.

Gyps is based on the condor Grongi La-Doldo-Gu, the unused Kamen Rider Stronger villain Jet Condor, and the Vulture from Spider-Man.

Horse is silly. His design is deliberately out-of-place with the others; his chestplate is based on the kanji 馬, his helmet is modeled on the memetic "horse mask", and I think his "codpiece" ends up giving him a weird Masters of the Universe vibe. Oh, and he's one of the few Geister Riders to canonically survive the entire campaign and ge off committing mischief after it.

These designs are all by me. Templates are by Taiko554 .
