Thanks! Wonder if there is a good break down for all the multipass renders in canvases somewhere?

I'm still not sure how some of them work. There's a thread in the Commons at DAZ that talks about converting some of the renders from 32-bit for masking, but I could never get them to turn out right. I just use the Mask and Multipass render script (I think that's what it's called?) for masking.

I'm glad it could help! It's not a very well documented feature but could be very useful in certain situations. Take care!

Thank you for taking the time to document it for those of us that were not aware of it. Tutorial is very informative and definitely helps to get the creative juices flowing (IMHO).
Thanks again brother!

The canvasses look promising, but I'm just having no luck getting anything. I'm following the steps, checking the canvas option, creating the canvas, adding the nodes (except on the depth canvas; it doesn't allow it), selecting the canvas (although it often does not show the named canvas; just Canvas1) and after an hour of rendering, I just get a big blank. I'm going to look into this again at some point, but at the moment I'm not up to trying to figure out what's going wrong.Β

Hm, sorry to hear that. What canvas are you trying to render? There are a few choices that I have not been able to get to work either. You shouldn't have to wait an hour either, if you're not seeing something in a few minutes, something isn't right.

Thanks for the tutorial! Β Just tried it out on one of my scenes.
Also discovered that instances don't show up in the list of nodes to include in the render, so be aware of that if you want to use both instances and canvasses.
