Back story

Born in Markarth on the 3rd of Hearthfire, 4E 177, to a family of an influential merchant and woman working in the tavern, who was secretly a Forsworn agent. Olive used to travel with her father, but would very often spend time with her mother who taught her about the Forsworn, their culture and beliefs, which Olive accepted very fast, looking up to her mother.

When Olive was 13, her mother was killed by a guard, and her father used his influence to keep his late wife`s identity a secret. However, Olive decided to follow her mother`s ways and become a Forsworn herself, but got into a huge fight with father.

She ran away from home and joined the Forsworn. For two years she cut off her ties with father and embraced her new Forsworn family, making many close friends. She came together with her father in the end, but their relationship was never fixed.

At the age of 21, following the instructions given by Nepos the Nose, she became an agent like her mother, and moved back to Markarth. Aside from that, starting her new business of making enchanted items and selling them, she employed Stholec Durmstratz as her blacksmith and they currently live and work together in their shop

Personality

You may think that she is a loving, kind and polite girl when you first encounter her, but it's just a mask. Or rather, whatever you think of her personality in general is most likely false.

Olive is an amazing actress. She can convincingly fake out any kind of emotion, reaction and character trait, even mental and personality disorders, and on top of that she is acting for the most of the time. She is extremely good at noticing the behaviors of other people and plotting out her words and moves in a second. You might not even know her true nature at all, even if you knew her for years.

Bellow all of that, she is often harsh and cynical, and stinks of sarcasm. Rarely tells good things about people - just keeps pointing out the flaws, even if she acknowledges the positive sides. On the other hand, she doesn't see the same flaws in herself - you can say she's a bit too proud. Unfortunately, she ends up hurting her close ones often, following it with a lot of apologies as she always regrets saying such bad things to them.

You could argue that she feels disgust for the most of the people in the world, or at least those that don't align with her views (especially Nords). This came from many things that happened in her life, from what happened to her mother, her relationship with father, and mostly her Forsworn beliefs. She always makes a kind, happy smile in front of strangers, but secretly thinks of the numerous curses for them. However, unlike many of her fellow Forsworn, she is not as zealous.

On the positive side, she can be very generous and friendly. Even if she dislikes people around her and keeps acting, she is an extrovert and still enjoys being in a community. She really really really treasures deep friendships, family connections and romantic relationships, seeking them as a shelter. If she does show her true self to someone, it would mean that the person is so close that she'd die to protect them if needed.

Olive is very loyal whoever she pledges her loyalty to, be it friends, family or the Forsworn, and this loyalty goes to the point where even when she knows something she is doing is wrong, she is still doing it for those important to her. This is the main motive that drives her in life.

At certain moments of loneliness, she reflects on her past actions and cries for all of the bad things she had said and done. She really isn't such an evil person - just very unpleasant with all of the thick layers of protection she created for herself.

 ***************

Interests and everyday routines

During the day, you are most likely to find her at her shop, surrounded with various enchanted objects and soul gems. She is the one that waits for the customers, takes orders, manages the shop and takes care of the money. While she usually uses her father's caravans to deliver the items to customers who ordered them, sometimes she sends Stholec to deliver them, or in very rare occasions, she does it herself. After the shop closes, she likes going around Markarth, acting as a pleasant girl that wants to be friends with everyone, trying to spread her influence among the people more and more.

She sleeps very little because of her paranoia, and spends a lot of time drawing or painting to kill the endless nights. Painting is her hobby and a way of expressing her emotions when she can't show them.

If she gets an order from Nepos the Nose, she is likely to leave whatever she was doing at given moment as soon as possible and do whatever was asked from her. However, the orders usually consist of getting some information by talking with people or spreading rumours.

Skills and combat

Her main skills include enchanting, illusion and speech, but also quite good at destruction, conjuration, lockpicking and sneaking.

She was always amazingly talented for enchanting, her father taught her the basics and later she studied and practiced by herself. Today, alongside with her roommate Stholec, she is making numerous enchanted weapons, armour and accessories that she sells.

Very skilled in illusion magic and speech, which are two main things she uses in her everyday life and spying activities, as well as when making deals in her business. She can be quite good at sneaking and lockpicking, but she's more of a type that openly uses her social status to gain required knowledge and power.

In combat, she uses a dagger if attacked from up close, but for the most of the time tries to deceive the enemy with illusion or attack with destruction magic (her favourite is Shock, but she avoids using it if Stholec is around and instead uses Frost).

While she usually thinks of every move she makes even in a combat, she can sometimes lose control over her behavior and attack anything in her way, from enemies to allies. In this case, she usually uses only a ton of shock magic attacks left and right. Hard to calm down, but once she does, she says it feels relieving.

Relationships

Clément Monet

~ father ~

(OC of mine)

As a kid, she used to look up to his knowledge a lot, which motivated her to learn enchanting and painting. However, her father always opposed her mother`s wish to involve their daughter in the Forsworn. He never supported the ways of the Forsworn, but he acknowledged the good sides and loved his wife to the sky. He also never wanted his only child to be involved into something so dangerous, like her mother was.

After the mother's death, he refused to tell Olive the reason behind it, but she found out anyway, and got into a huge fight with him. In the end, they cut off their ties for a few months.

Today, they are back together and good with each other, but there are some issues and untold things that need to be cleared out. They still support and love each other.

Stholec Durmstratz

~ friend, co-worker, roommate, possible love interest ~

(an OC of mine)

When Olive came back to Markarth, she was searching for a blacksmith that would work with her. She heard of a very skilled one that apparently needed a home, and that's how Stholec and she met. Thanks to the influence her father had in the city, she arranged a home for the two of them to stay, and access to Calcelmo`s researches for Stholec.

Stholec is oblivious to her secret life. She ended up becoming a very close friend with him, probably one of the closest if not the closest friend she ever had. This often makes her doubt her views and loyalty, but as the guy doesn't care about anything except the Dwemer, she realized that there is no need to worry about him.

Even if she is confident enough to tell him about her double life, she also knows that he wouldn't be able to keep her secret - he wouldn't tell on her, but he can never hide his emotions, and somebody would find out eventually.

As for now, she sees him like a friend (however, she's been rethinking over and over whether she sees him only like a friend), having fights over their laziness and mistakes and irritating each other to no end. Stholec knows how to smile at her harsh words which she loves about him and it makes her relaxed.

His mixed signals confuse her, because she can't tell anymore if he sees her just like a friend too, or if he is interested in a different way.

Around acquaintances and strangers

Olive is very distrustful and paranoid of everybody. She's a good actress and often asserts to the situation and people she talks to - making herself look more sweet and nice to make people lower their guard, but deep inside she most often has a certain amount of unreasonable hate for them, especially for Nords. The thing is, she sees everybody as fake, shallow, often bad people right from the start. It's not that she can't change her opinion though - you can get a bit closer to her, and though she wouldn't stop being distrustful of you, she will start seeing you the person you actually are rather than what her impression gave her at first. Truly befriending her, however, is almost impossible if you are not among the Forsworn - and even around the Forsworn members who she's not familiar with she feels uncomfortable. She doesn't feel like this towards children, because Olive doesn't see children as deceitful and evil creatures.
