I don't mind people writing this and that about the rivalry between Sonic and Mario, but most people (most!) seem to assume that it's the only way to go. I mean, just because the two (and soon, three) games they've appeared together in are centered around competition doesn't mean it's all they can do, does it? I for one am a firm believer that they can bury the hatchet and fight alongside each other, rather than against each other.The Mario's sprite from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga; I downloaded it just for this stamp. The Sonic sprite's from Sonic Advance 2; I had it saved on my hard drive for who knows how long.
Just because we've never seen it happen doesn't mean it can't. And I'm absolutely sure it can. Who's with me?

Note: I did not know of Super Mario Bros. Z at the time that I made this stamp. Now, thanks to those who have commented on it, I am very adequately informed.

I both agree and disagree with this stamp. The two are obviously good guys, but I think it's more interesting when they don't get along. And are on the same side, mind you. Still, when I don't think with that mindset, I think with this one. Good work.

Putting Mario and Sonic together in one place is the most genius idea because it's basically what brought us SMBZ, which was the most awesome sprite series before it ended.
Also, I strongly agree. Mario and Sonic should be pals rather than fighting or being rivals.

dont you see? they have gotton along! they shook hands...OFFICIALLY! one of the most satisfying moments in my gaming life was the day they shook hands and became friends. i must have cried tears of joy that day.

indeed, however mario and sonic did shake hands. and in the storylines of the most recent olympic games mario and sonic work together, giving one another high fives. in order to identify one another, and make sure neither was fake, they did some kinda high5/handshake thing. mario and sonic also worked together with lugi and tails to stop eggman and bowser from ruining the olympics. while they are still rivals, they are now best of friends i assure you.

Mario and Sonic were always friends actually. The creator of Sonic was inspired by Mario.
The enemies were Nintendo and SEGA not Mario and Sonic... plus the creator of Sonic wanted to do the Olympic series but SEGA didn't like that idea... so the co-creator left SEGA and now planning to go to help Nintendo.
