The Fallout 3 MemeOriginal by
Well, it's been awhile since I last deviated, and I thought I'd ease myself back in by completing one of these ever so popular memes that float around.
I knew I'd have to buy Fallout 3 when I saw the live action trailer. I'm not much of a gamer anymore, but every now and then a game comes along that I end up playing obsessively, and Fallout 3 is one of them.
1. Sam Wells is the name of one of my role-playing characters, his quest to find his father is similiar to the Lone Wanderer, so it is eerily appropriate.
2. So, I decided that my character would be a good guy because I find I enjoy games more when I'm not nuking every NPC I come across, so yeah... I really got Vault Chaplain. I guess they just assume that you're religious. I figured the Chaplain outfit might look something like the regular vault costume, but closer to the colours of a Catholic Priest.
3. See above. This picture of a superheroic Lone Wanderer reminds me of a friend of mine's own superhero he created when we were little.
4. There is just something awesome about having Liam Neeson as your dad. He has that calming authoritative voice that really works with the character, when he says how proud he is, I'm like βHear that everyone?! Liam Neeson is proud of me!β
And I love how huge the map is, just how much of it there is to explore, and how pretty close it is to the actual Washington D.C. It's as good as being there, well, aside from all the Super Mutants.
5. Liberty Prime... Just Liberty Prime. When I get a message on my phone it proclaims loudly "Embrace Democracy or you will be eradicated!" I went into the game files and extracted Liberty Prime's lines just for that. Nerd much? I hoped that I'd get to see this guy in combat as soon as I saw him. Without a doubt, one of my favourite features of the whole game... I decided against including him in the favourite features category since it'd mean he'd be appearing on this list three times.
6. It took me awhile to think of the NPC that I disliked the most. The one that creeped me out the most was Stanislaus Braun, who spent two hundred years torturing
the occupants of Vault 112, in the form of a twelve year old girl for some reason.
It was one of my favourite quests though. I think I speak for everyone when I say it's incredibly disturbing to look at your pipboy to find a watch instead. For a moment you panic, then you laugh, then you wish you had that watch in real life.
7. My favourite perk, I'm not really sure, probably Mysterious Stranger, who just appears out of nowhere with no explanation to help you. Apparently there is a
special scoped magnum called Callahan's Magnum, which pisses me off because you can only get it if you do an evil act. I want that gun!
8. It's basically a cutscene that you get to wander around in, you just follow Liberty Prime around giggling like a fool... but what a cutscene.
9. I'm not the best at drawing females, but she came out somewhat like I was hoping. She's wearing a vault suit which isn't accurate, but it's sort of modelled on what James wears, so I think it works.
10. In case the fact that having Liberty Prime on my phone wasn't nerdy enough for you, I really did get a custom made T-Shirt with Vault Boy on it. I can't wait for New Vegas.

Yeah, I went to an online custom t-shirt website and got it done... although these days Bethesda sell them too on their online store.

Ah Liberty Prime, your one of my favorite characters. Fun fact: When Fallout 3 was in production, the original ending had you PILOT Liberty Prime with a fully operational Rivet City providing covering fire. Yes, it would have been awesome.

Wow that would have been amazing.
That being said just running after him and giggling like a school girl everytime he said or did something was good enough for me.

True, true. Nothing's better than seeing him throw a nuke the size of a car.

On the subject of Liberty Prime, you forgot a few things: He is a forty foot tall robot that spouts anti-communist propaganda, shoots down nigh-indestructible helicopters with his LASER EYES, literally squashes Enclave soldiers under his boots (this totally happened in game, the Tesla Trooper bounced off three walls before he got stuck in the side of a building), and throws nukes the size of a car around like a Heisman Trophy winner. On top of all that, the only thing that can even damage Statue of Liberty engraved on them.
"DEMOCRACY... IS NON-NEGOTIABLE!"
"TACTICAL ASSESSMENT: RED CHINESE VICTORY: IMPOSSIBLE"
"COMMUNISM IS THE VERY DEFINITION OF FAILURE"
Awsomesauce.

Nice to see another Liberty Prime devotee. I love the way he says "Communism in the very definition of failure" with such scorn in his robotic voice.
Ahhh... he's great.

Gah, I just looked at the post I put up! It cut off two lines! LOL, Liberty Prime is soooo much better than that other giant robot named Prime.
Don't you agree?

Oh yeah definitely, I think it's safe to say that's true, but then I've never been a Transformers fan so we might be incurring their wrath for saying so...

4.2 "The Waihd-Open Landscape"
Damn straight this part's awesome. A lot of games base environments on Earth areas, but I do so love a game that isn't afraid to use actual existing regions and call them by name.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. does this too, albeit in Ukraine, and with nearly picture-perfect replication.
I do feel sad about what Broken Steel does with Prime, tho.

I love the style of drawing in this meme, especially when applied to Liberty Prime (AKA: The robot lovechild of Chuck Norris).
