I would recommend to do the large radial gradients in Gimp. For some reason Inkscape leaves these rings where the gradient doesn't transition as finely.

I suppose, since you can use dithering in GIMP, unlike Inkscape. That was why I added the noise, to try and make it less noticeable.

Yea I've just always had problems with large gradients in Inkscape

The main reason I used Inkscape is that it allows for elliptical gradients, unlike GIMP.

Yea, this is true. I've been able to somewhat fake an elliptical gradient in gimp by blurring the crap out of an ellipse But yea. It's too bad Inkscape didn't just have better gradients.

It looks fine in Inkscape itself, it's just when you rasterise it banding occurs.

How would you envisage that working? I'm guessing by having the cover artwork in the middle of the record, and adding some sort of retro record player controls.
