Although the Grey Wolf still faces some threats, its relatively widespread range and stable population trend mean that the species does not meet, or nearly meet, any of the criteria for the threatened categories. Therefore, it is assessed as Least Concern.
The IUCN Red List lists grey wolves as Least Concern.
And do you know how many vulnerable, endangered, and critical amphibians there are?

So your saying its ok that wolves kill out elk and deer herds, and even threaten our livestock, But if someone shoots your precious god animal, its a terrible thing. Wolves aren't the only animal on the planet.

Have you ever herd of surplus killing? Its a form of hunting that wolves do for fun. Even if the wolf is full. It will keep killing and killing prey. They do this to livestock and wild animals. Usually the dead carcass will end up abandoned. Don't you relize that the livestock has to be let out? They need to stay in pastures to graze. Wolves are cowardly predatores anyway.

Stop obsessing over wolves, they give us nothing but grief anyway. We shouldn't hunt them to extinction, because the food chain would fall out of balance, but since they are overpopulated we are free to hunt them as much as we please. Also, the bugers and hot dogs you eat come from animals. Hey, I think chickens are cute and beautiful but I eat them anyway. Animals we eat suffer in slaughterhouses for us. Death is a part of life, get over it.

F U if you think that those animals should be thought of first, they should all be treated with equality as in we should do all we can to save each and every one of them instead of chossing fovorites! i just like to say save the wolves because mai grandparents dog died and it was half wolf, that dog holds a special place in my heart so therefore i want to do anything i can for a wolf! but i still love those others so i want to save all of them, even if im not saved myself!

Um..So you're saying that actual endangered species should not fall under wolves? Yes some wolves are in need of 'saving' but the populations of wolves that are thriving and expanding need to be dealt with.
I'd rather save an animal who is about to go extinct rather than an animal that is doing fine. And I doubt you think livestock should be treated equally to wolves.

Do you know how much of a cow we use when we slaughter it? It isn't just avoiding meat, it is avoiding all products that cows will go into. Like plastic, medication, shampoo/body wash/soap and countless other things.

Well you have to consider that wolves take a positive toll on some religous beleifs, and when wolves are being hunted on a day to day bassis the people who beleive in those religons (Not popuar religons) get worried and the teenage girls who obbsess over wolves and know nothing aout them take the little worry from the religous people and turn it into panic, and their panic makes others think that wolves are going extinct. But a real reason to worry about the wolves is that they are slowly going extinct from the popular demands for their fur and etc. Wolves are my favorite animal, and it's because I HAVE studied about them, not because of movie franchises like "Twilight". I agree that there are animals in in way woese situations than wolves. I find your oppinion interesting and it really makes you think. I don't support hunting for sport or fake population control, we have stores now so I think tha w don't need to hunt anymore.

I see them as an endangered species, but I won't argue or anything. Seeing as this was made last year, things have clearly changed.

Iberian wolves have a "Near Threatened" conseration status now. And thats thanks to the past years of a strong conservation proyect in Spain and Portugal, that in the last years is expaning for the peninsula.
Western-Central Alps wolves are Endangered. (and are from the italian subspecies)
The Italian wolf is Vulnerable isdide Italic peninsula
Both of them are subspecies of grey wolf.
