You know, maybe with all of this gene-splicing going on, could be Wal-mart or something will start producing kitten-sized giraffes and elephants, and we could have them trailing around with us in the mornings as we try to make coffee...

I love the way he is peeking through the branches and has this inquisitve look, like who are you? and why are you looking at me (but not in a cranky way, more interested). Really like teh details in the leaves on the branches

Do you remember the praying mantis on the cover of Steely Dan's "Katy Lied" album? (Maybe it was a katydid and not a mantis)... I dunno; your description reminded me of that, and I was just talking to somebody about favorite album covers...

I am not sure what type of insect it was, exactly. It looked a bit like a katydid (they are part of the grasshopper family and have long legs, but look more leaf like and tinner when viewing from above). It always made me think more of a cicada with long legs and no wing..... cicada, family Cicadidae-- order Homoptera-- or harvest fly I like bugs

They're so pretty; they're so mean... They're also great metaphorically; I'm always going for the bee metaphor, and my newest and biggest painting makes use of the dragonfly...
Are you currently working on something new? Do you work on more than one piece at a time?

I love dragonflies, I get them around my pool at dusk, they are beautiful
I work on a zillion things at once (just all over the place) I only post, maybe 5% of of what I do. I have been doing more wood work lately, just had this sudden urge the other day to build tables, now they need chairs

This is great! I keep sticking my face extra close to the monitor to stare at this. The texture looks so smooth.. it looks so real. I love the ay you drew the branches. It looks like they're popping out of the screen almost

You know, if this bioengineering thing ever gets to the point where it's probably headed, I'm going to live with a 12-inch high giraffe and an 8-inch high elephant... cuz I just really want to, that's all.
