It's just a goof-- little synconi requested sheep in a poll she did last month, and so sheep we must...

Really? And here I was, crawling around on the floor, hauling out all the stuff I'd stored under my drafting table, vacuuming up the dust capybaras re-connecting an external hard drive to my computer that had become unplugged, putting everything back under said drafting table, and connecting a new keyboard to the computer, just so I could get to work. You could have told me sooner.

This is one of your "slightly looser sketchy things"?! It's much more than that...! It's a well-constructed characterization of a sheep. Once again, your art is like a piece of writing. You've drawn the sheep (does it have a name?) so well that it has a personality while still being realistic...so it takes on that human quality.
It seems like an illustration that could be in one of those children's books..

Thanks, Natalie! I SWEAR, once the pencil drawing was done, I was just gonna loosely enhance this using Sakura Gelly Roll pens, because David Mack [link] has been recommending them for years; instead, I realized it had been forever since I did any pen and ink, so I got seduced into something more formal with rapidographs, sable brush and crowquill... One of these days, though-- warts and all, unrefined...

Someone got a tad bit carried away..
It happens, though...(it was just today in chem where I got a bit carried away writing an intense explanation for why Boron and Beryllium differ in atomic size )
Hahaha..the last part of your comment sounded very farm-like for some reason. I dunno..when I stare at your comment in its entirety, not concentrating on the what it really says, I get an image of farmland in my head.

You should write a children's book about one and illustrate it yourself.

This could actually be kinda cool-- a primer on art supplies disguised as a farm story...

YES! So the little, innocent, unsuspecting children who are reading it are subconsciously manipulated into wanting to create art. It'll be like Animal Farm..
I think I just made the idea sound evil, which was not my intention at all. Oops.

haha... but they're technically not Australian, since they're from New Zealand, so that should help somewhat, no?

(by the way, is it true that in America, mad does not mean crazy??! (besides meaning angry))

Mad does mean crazy in America, in addition to angry-- Why do you ask?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
zenatz19 In reply to SRaffa [2008-10-28 21:06:11 +0000 UTC]
Thank god for that!!
Oh because I was just on the bus and one of my friends was talking to me about something that happened earlier in the day and she said "I'm not mad" and I asked her a perfectly logical question-- "Mad as in crazy or angry?" and she said "oh you British people!"
and then explained that apparently no one says mad for crazy over here...so I was alarmed. Good thing it seems to be a contained thing..
That's TWO days in a row that I discovered such cultural differences. Apparently, not many people here've ever done linedancing or riverdancing.
