There's probably something like that in English, too, darlin, but I'm too lazy to learn it...

I love the amount of tones you got here using black and white, Sam, that's awesome! But most of all I like the expression... it makes you wonder what animals would say if they could talk ("baaa")

Just a remarkable piece of work! The shading is perfect, I love the texture of the sheep's coat and its expression is very endearing, I think.

I used to do LOTS! [link]
You know how hard it is to balance out your day, though, Gab-- if I spent all day doing nothing but the art I want to do, MAYBE I could cover one tenth of it, but there'd be nothing left for anything else...
Still. I mean to do more this year, sister; thanks!

Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away
Only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air
The return of the rapidograph! Flawless line control and consciousness of lights and darks... a perfect illustration worthy of any magazine or book wise enough to use it. It's not only great on a technical level and for it's accuracy of the subject but also for it's distinct artistic playfulness. I'm in a watercolor wildlife class right now and this would inspire everybody!

Thanks so much, Billy!
How are you liking the class? Any other deviants in there with you?

It's been great, she's a great teacher I've kept coming back to over the past few years.
Ha, nope no deviants. I took a couple classes with Charles Burns' father though.

Ha, nope haven't seen it... I like his sketchbook pages on there, and everything he labels "hard to draw." Wow his whole family has artistic talent eh? Interesting!

There's a documentary Terry Zwigoff did called "Crumb" that's really essential if you like R.
It's got some tough moments in it (one of Crumb's brothers committed suicide during production), but it's deeply compelling stuff, and there's an intro to Jesse Crumb's work in it as well...

Wow, great! The sheep almost looks a little apprehensive. Perhaps it can see a man holding sheers or something. ^^
