Wow! Amazing drawing. The way you've depicted the light on her hair and eyes is wonderful. Great Work!

I love the detailing in her hair and her eyes are amazing! There is just something about Katie isn't there... that makes us all want to draw her.

Wow, very impressive work.
I really like your value transitions, your work with the small reflected lights is very inspirational.

I adore your pencil art! I often think it is an underappreciated medium, but you're an inspiring example of what can be done with it. I particularly enjoy your tendancy to exagerate the 'imperfections', it gives a certain life to everything. Perhaps it's just more relateable that way. Anyways, I thought I should pass on my thoughts, and tell you to keep up your amazing work!

This is grace, and love spun is soft magic and a wonderful use of texture and perception. I know it's her face that tells the story, but I keep drifting off to the moon.
It's kind of like going home.

How could I not look? I find most of your work over done - but the sketches, the pieces half done in the photos of your studio, and this ...
Tis lovely

That's extremely interesting to me-- you feel like I end up defeating any spontaneity in most of my stuff by over-refining it? Gimme details, please...

I'll go take another wander in your gallery, but for each comment you'll owe me a story - or something as equally shiny.

You don't have to burden yourself with an assignment like that on a Saturday-- I just want you to amplify your initial point so that I might benefit from it...

Mmm, I'm not sure that you'll benefit from it - but rambling I've a gone and comments I'm a leaving.
Plus I'm trying to keep you, tis not a burden. I just hope by the end you don't want to cause me /much/ bodily harm. K

Thanks so much! I drew the details of the hair with a hard lead-- a 9H lead-- leaving impressions in the paper, so that, when I went over all of it again with progressively softer leads, the impressions resisted the softer lead and showed up as texture and highlights...

i didn't even know they made 9h. i thought i was being hardcore using 3h! wow, that sounds so tedious. really hard work. but it was definitely worth it!

I really enjoy that a lot, actually-- it's not tedious at all, it's a very rhythmic and invigorating activity, perfect with the proper musical accompaniment!
