Wow! Amazing execution of concept. This is just so flawless, I can't help but sit here in awe. The shading sticks out the most for me. You've created such intense atmosphere using intense contrasts of light and shadow which takes a lot of skill with graphite

this is just...beautiful. you have a great power to create beautiful works, and it shows in this one. i love the eyes...and the feathers are georgous. i think mt favorite is her lips, though. the texture, the contrast.....beautiful. great job.

There's something so perilous about describing a shape with paint; it can be hugely relaxing to focus in on those shapes-- especially eyes and lips-- with nothing but the point of a pencil. Thanks so much for taking a look!

Like @rapidograph, I've kept this where I could see it until I had a chance to comment on it when I was really awake, relatively pain free, and had the time to choose my words wisely, because this demands those conditions. Of all your work that I have seen this one has become my favorite. 
Now that I know in which city you currently reside many of your prior comments make much more sense. I lived there as a child and regret, in a small sad way, that I haven't visited my family there in 44 years. Yes, I am aware that the city I recall is not the one in which you now live and work.
