Parts of this I find perfect. The texture of the road, her hat, the bike and her pose. Wonderful.
The things that stick out, for obvious reasons is the blue thing with wings, and the records. The /for me/ don't click with the picture, they lack similar textures, I'd almost say they got photo shopped in after. There is texture, I just find it forced - then again I have no experience working with Masonite and I am predisposed to love brush strokes.
The trees are to perfect in someways but the 'sky' rushing in after - perfection. Elements about this just feel over done, and unnatural to the overall piece -
and maybe that be what you're going for. It defiantly provokes thoughts, none of your work sits on the fence.

No photoshop, mon petite-- just a permanent preoccupation with textures of all kinds; thanks for a comprehensive viewing and an erudite critique, though!

How do you make the road? O_O
It looks great, like real one

Thank you! I plop blacks and whites on with separate paper towels, let the paint dry, and then run both black and white separately through an air brush at a very low Pounds per Square Inch (PSI) setting on my compressor, so that the paint spits out slowly in little dots...

all those dots were drawn? O_____O
Gosh, impressive

Well, but my airbrush "drew" them, by slowly spraying out small amounts of paint-- on the other hand, I DID draw every single one of THESE dots: [link]

That looks fantastic, the colours are very realistic, I like the purple lighting theme

like the girl on the bike with her guardian angel.. however (might as well ask, right? what`s the idea behind the flying records? I`m not getting that.. Lou :dumb:

I don't really know either-- you know how sometimes you'll have a dream and all these seemingly disconnected elements suddenly resonate together...? This is kinda like that...

Your originality is unequaled.
I've seen nothing that even approaches your style and essence.
The detail and colors you coax out of acrylic is mystical.
In all your paintings the line between realism and surreal blur, with a symbolic nature that is like a bottomless well.
I look forward to studying your other new pieces. Maybe later tonight.

Hi Sam.
I'm jet lagged. Last 2 days I slept while it was dark and took walks + stayed awake while there was sunshine.
Missed ya. It was fun to visit and see your new artwork.
I've been spending my time as paintresseye, spamming my poor watchers with crazy, out-of-focus pictures. I'm having fun with that. Still pressing forward with my virtual reality [outside of dA]
house -- the one which needs new plumbing,
new windows,
new doorknobs...
Slowly getting these jobs taken care of. Thanks to a little extra cash from the new roommate. She's been great.
That new art of yours...
