Great job of transforming the "busy" and old looking photograph into the marvelous scene with great lighting. Is there a story behind the two subjects?
I recognized your unique style, right away, just from the thumbnail.
Hope the year 2010 will bring you health, peace and love!

Thanks, bub!
No story, really-- just two more friends from deviantART and their weird, unlikely chemistry! I'm going to put an effort into painting people who have nothing to do with dA again, and soon!
Here's to the new year, pal...

What a nice piece you did here sphilr! I especially like that beautiful little smile to the girl and those spinning vinyl's. I love vinyl so much also, my father has a colossal collection he got me into.

Yeah, I actually do like cds, but there's something so dear to me about vinyl-- maybe partly because you actually SEE the needle hit the groove-- as opposed to whatever goes on between a cd and a laser beam...
Thanks for taking a look, man!

Beautiful. I love the dreamy fall-like glow...reminds me of one of those late autumn evenings after a light rain when you sense that something magical is present in the air. Also brilliant color scheme... a triad that doesn't look too obviously like a triad.
Brilliant as always.
(forgive me for sounding like a hopeless neo-luddite, but I miss records! of course I love my ipod more than life, so I guess there's always a trade off.)

Well, I still do love my cds, but I never stopped loving the vinyl; there's just something extra delicious about it...
Thanks for lending this an eye, pal-- I've got a story to tell you about continuous pull scanners, soon...

Holy mother of god!!!
Sublimely gorgeous work, brother! The lightning and overall atmosphere is epic, and everything from their expressions to the details in the road is just magical... I remember having seen the original pencil sketch, I could have never imagined how this would have turned out, and it's beyond what I could have expected.
I seriously love the flying albums surrounding them.
You're the king, sir!

First I've heard of it, Diego-- Terry Gilliam directed?!

DiegoTripodi In reply to SRaffa [2009-12-30 20:27:35 +0000 UTC]
Yes! I had read about it when the guy who played the Joker in the latest Batman movie, Heath Ledger, died-- with less than half of Gilliam's movie shot. And I've just learnt recently that it was already done, and many actors including Johnny Depp played Ledger's character in other parts of the film that he didn't get to do. Anyways, back then I had read Mr. Waits was going to play the devil in the film, and I've just came accross that pic this afternoon-- I'm looking forward to watch this one. Here it comes out next month. From what I read at the IMDB, it seems it didn't have a very wide release in the States. However, it was released months ago over there-- maybe it's already out on DVD?

Netflix has it available to SAVE, not rent yet-- so it's in limbo between theatrical and dvd release... It does look interesting!

Diego, were you a fan of Monty Python? Are you familiar with them? IFC just did a 6 hour documentary on the history of Python that was totally absorbing...

DiegoTripodi In reply to SRaffa [2009-12-31 19:23:27 +0000 UTC]
I haven't seen anything by the Monty Python, brother-- that's certainly high in my list of "must watch" stuff... I really liked the few I've seen from Gilliam alone, probably the thing that got me interested in his stuff was "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". Years after that, I've got to read the book and thought it was a great adaptation... there's one Monty Python film that I've been told so many great things about by a girl who used to go to college with me, "Life of Brian". I'll try to get that one. Have you seen it, Sam? Are you a fan of them?
Also-- have you got to see Gilliam's animations? There's some stuff up on youtube, it's pretty nice work.
