Description For the Battletech card game from Wizards of the Coast, 1997.
I only include this one for the sake of completeness. The colors are gaudy, the lighting is poor and the fire is embarassing. That said, it was the first one I painted, and I hadn't yet realized I could use photographic elements for flames and explosions...

It wouldn't be BattleTech without the gaudy colors. And I dig the cartoonish fire.


Photorealistic explosions plastered on top of a painting take me right out of the work and make it obvious that I'm looking at a Photoshop layer.


Side note: this is the first and maybe the only time a Cicada has ever looked intimidating!
