Description
A bit of an experiment, this. The top image is an anaglyph image. If you've got a pair of those red and blue 3D glasses handy, you'll see the 3D effect. Those polarised 3D glasses you get from the cinema won't work, only the red and blue ones. I've made a cheapo pair out of sweet wrappers! So it's the Blue Sovereign ([link] ) flying over water. It's the first time you'll have seen it with the engines on. The perspective may look a little extreme, but to be fair the Sovereign is a kilometre in length!

Erg... I wish I still had a pair of the red and blue glasses. All I have at the moment are the new style ones, which are pretty much just brown. (You know, the ones that they've been handing out in recent 3D movies, and request that you don't take them home, knowing full well that everyone does anyway.) I will have to see if I can't track down a red/blue pair.)

A trial for Maya 2011 - it's got 3D cameras built in.

To be honest I'm not a big fan of 3D films at all - I just did this out of curiosity. There won't be much 3D from me!

Awesome. It's probably not a bad idea to use this once in a while, and it's pretty fun in animation...

Thanks! I used a trial for Maya 2011 - it's got 3D built into it, so it was just a case of getting the settings right.
