Edit 30th May 2008: brand new images on my new website here: [link]Well, I've finally finished it. I started this 3D model in early...October? Then coursework and exams got in the way, etc etc.
Its the Going Merry! The Straw Hats' Caravel from One Piece. I really wanted to do this, a challenge to myself and I think I pulled it off! I went for ultra-detailed modelling over texturing for three reasons:
1) Because I wanted to.
2) Because I could (Uni PCs are meaty)
3) I'm crap at texturing.
So yeah, individual planks, over 200 rivets and lots of little details. I'll be doing more images, as from here you can't see the deck and all thats on it!

Are those green things on the deck giant tennis balls, oddly shaped christmas trees or freaky colored cannon balls? Love the pic. Even if I tried I would never be able to do that on Maya.
