It certainly was beautiful out, huh? Sitting tall and happily atop the beautiful Afanen, Margaret looked out over the tundra from the cliff where she stood with Castor, Sarava, Morrighan, and Xochipilli. Castor stood out ahead of the group, excited and ready to go. Sarava was standing closely behind him, ready to go as well, excited to get going to the point where he was stepping from foot to foot, ready to go have some fun. Xocipilli, happy to be with such a large group, stood up front and off to the side, trying to put some distance between himself and the strange handler who was leading the group today. Margaret stood near the back, with Afanen, trying to keep watch over the collection of five tokotas in her care. Morrighan stood near them, also watching over the group like the wise old tokota she is. Margaret, seeing Sarava so antsy to have an adventure put her fingers to her lips in a whistling motion and let out a loud and clear tweet from her lips. Sarava, so incredibly ready to go, jumped off the edge of the short cliff, thankfully neither too high or too steep, letting out an excited barking howl. Castor followed happily, skidding down the hill on his large lilac feet. Morrighan followed quickly after, taking three short bounds down the hill before leaping off into the distance, letting out a happy, whistle style noise through her teeth as she did. A giant grin spread across her face at the excitement that filled the air, and Margaret gently tapped her heels into Afanen’s sides, and she happily gave her tail two quick wags before following the other tokota’s down the side of the short cliff. Xochipilli followed after them, gently skimming the side of the cliff, trying to keep her balance as she followed Afanen’s dramatic and forceful run downwards on the side of the little cliff. Castor ran swiftly across the field, which was bathing in a beautiful and deep purple light from the sun filtering through thick, snow filled clouds. As Sarava’s feet slammed into the ground, he sniffed every inch of the air, smelling the air. He could tell that snow was coming, and was so pleased with the fresh, clean smell it left. He was also sniffing for some little trinket or animal to bring back to Margaret, face full of pride and excitement. Morrighan followed after them, pausing to dawdle and sniff a rabbit hole here, or a flower she found there. She loved the beautiful light that filtered across the field and practically bathing in it as she walked around, finding a nice spot of dirt on the ground, covered in thick, sweet smelling lemon grass and immediately plopped herself over sideways and rolled around in it happily, letting out a pleased bark as she did. Morrighan Also began to wander around on this little adventure they were having. Tail wagging happily, she immediately caught wiff of a small mouse, and, feeling somewhat giddy, she decided to chase it like she was a puppy. Happily barking after the tiny mouse that skittered along the ground, she ran with all her might, nipping excitedly and feet pounding hard against the ground. Eventually, the mouse escaped down a small hole, and Morrighan, totally filled with the thrill of the hunt, she stuck her nose after it, getting stuck and whining miserably. Afanen, after running after the others, heard noises coming from everywhere. However, the sound of Morrighan whining perked up her ears, and she began to whine herself, pulling her head in the direction of the noise. Margaret, curious as to what had her so worked uh, agreed and directed her towards the sound. Xochipilli, nearby and curious about the commotion, followed the others. Finding poor Morrighan with her nose firmly and unhappily stuck in the hole, who continued to whine miserably. Margaret, once she realized what had happened, jumped off of Afanen and worked at the hole until Morrighan was able to pull herself free, at which point she happily took a step back, dazed, until she ran to catch up with Castor and Sarava, who were happily play fighting in the patch of lemon grass that Castor had found earlier, giving off playful growls and gentle chops as they rolled and lightly butted heads. Afanen looked up at the handler who sat upon her back, and Margaret gave her a huge toothy smile, so large she squeezed her eyes shut as she gave the whistle command Margaret used to say “let’s go!” as Afanen chased after the others, Xochipilli following behind with a soft and gentle smile. The five toccatas and Margaret spent the whole twilight bathed in the purple light of the tundras, running around, looking for tiny objects, and just having a good time all around, finally heading home when it almost too dark to see, everyone laughing and having a fantastic time.
