SHORT STORY
Flowers flew up into the air as the Yeti maned Tokota, Valkyrja, jumped into the flower bed happily. She layed in the flower bed, sniffing and nipping at various flowers. Selich sneered at her and sneezed, his fur fluffing up as he sneezed. The group of six had found a lovely rocky meadow, with the sun shining down on their furs. The air was smooth and smelled of mountain and forest water. The riders that decided to ride out with the five Tokota's and Amarok, they sat together chatting cheerfully, occasionally laughing and making noises that the Tokota's found interesting. They would spend some time up here, enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful view of the valley. Maybe something interesting could happen.
Padme had found an interesting bumble bee, going about it's business and busily buzzing away. She found herself following it, keeping her distance but getting as close as she could without bothering the busy buzzer. Thranduil was sitting a few feet away, enjoying the sun beating down on his fur with his eyes closed and a grin on his face. He opened an eye to view the curious Padme following the buzzer. He layed his head down, and rolled over onto his side, just watching the white female still.
Padme wagged her tail and pawed at the buzzer which disturbed it, making it fly away without harming Padme. Bumble bees were the more laid back of the bee types. Valkyrja tuned in on the clouds moving above them while still laying in the flower bed. It did not seem like too much would be going on this day. The Tokota's had not been put on a task or anything, it was merely a choice by the riders and Tokota's to come and enjoy the valley. Selich trotted towards a small water supply, lapping up water quickly then sitting and looking around.
A young caribou walked onto the scene, curiously and warily looking around. All the Tokota's immediately got into hunter mode, getting low and staring at the caribou. They would then act like they were not interested by looking away and around the caribou instead of straight at it to not raise any suspicion. The caribou was already kind of out of place, waltzing onto the scene with six Tokota's. Amarok was not very interested though, relaxing in the sun lazily. Padme, Valkryja, Selich, Thranduil, and Teddy were in focus mode. They began to slowly manevuer towards it. You could almost see them drooling. Then an unfamiliar Tokota came onto the scene, walking up the caribou without it so much as flinching.
The Tokota playfully nipped at the caribou child before getting a serious look, glaring around before catching the sight of the stalking Tokota's. It gave a warning growl, the caribou folding up and laying down under the Tokota. The group of five looked towards the Tokota and Padme approached but kept her distance, head lowered. She communicated with the Tokota, curious of the relationship between him and the little caribou. It was certain that this Tokota was parenting the caribou, perhaps it's parents were deceased. It was also certain that the Tokota would not allow any of them to attack the caribou child if it was the last thing he would do. He was a pretty big Tokota, as well, so it would lead to injuries for sure. The Tokota's decided to back down, not interested in fighting for such a small meal. They assumed the Tokota must have lost it's own children somehow, and it still had parental instincts. The Tokota group went back to laying about and enjoying the rest of their day.
