SHORT STORY
The valley was full of all sorts of life at this time of day. The sun was almost ready to begin setting and the sky was cloudy, making a white-yellow-grey color to shine down below. Various dark clouds passed, making the valley dark in some spots and light in others. A bear and her cub walked through the grassland, lapping up grass and searching for berries as well as any easy meals. They had come down from the mountains and were exploring the territory a bit. David watched the bears, especially the cub who was very much playful. He smiled and layed his head down on his folded arms as he lay in the grass. Truffle nosed his back, licking his clothes. What a weird dire, David thought to himself. Luciana and Boon played together, pawing and nipping eachother, and then sprinting around the grass in circle chasing one another. That too was cute! Kishi and Hono layed near eachother, Hono layed with her eyes closed and Kishi was busily chewing on grass then spitting it out in disgust only to continue and try to eat more grass. Engel lay on her side licking at a bug she had found... but it disappeared with one of her licks only to then taste it in her mouth. Phhep! David hopped up, looking around at all of the lazy Tokota's. "Hey guys, let's go walk around the grassland!" He suggested towards the Tokota's who still hadn't a clue who he was saying. They did not protest with this unknown suggestion, though, and all got up when he did. David started leading the way, walking in the opposite direction of the bears to ensure not to interfere with a mother and her child. After a bit, the Tokota's had trotted forward and David decided to hop on Engel who was happy to allow him to. They trotted through the grassland, observing the occasional wildlife that would scamper in front of them or make noises nearby. Pretty soon, they met with a forest. It was a very ancient forest... David could just feel the presence of all kinds of old and primal spirits. The Tokota's were also in awe, looking up at the tree's that were likely millions of years old. They were huge! Colassal! David dismounted from his trusty steed of a Tokota, walking over to one of the tree's and grazing his hands against it. Truffle walked over sniffing the tree curiously. Kishi, Luciana, Hono, and Boon began trotting into the forest. Engel and Truffle stayed glued to David who then began to follow the group of four into the forest. As they walked in further, the wood grew thicker and the bottom where they were began to grow darker. The treetops were sealing any ability for the sun to get in there, causing it to look dark and mysterious anytime of the day. David was speechless! He gasped at the beautiful scenery, finding a plesaent place to sit next to a small creek. The water was ice cold, which made David assume the water was coming down from the mountains. That's how it was around there! All the water was nice and cold, coming from the mountains. The Tokota's all began to lay down around the creek. Truffle began lapping water loudly, the large girl was rather thirsty. Kishi watched the water and layed his head down, closing his eyes for a quick rest. Luciana and Hono sat down, observing their sourroundings silently. Luciana layed down, closing her eyes slowly while still looking around but being tired was just much too strong. Engel trotted around curiously, much too caught up in the new area to worry about resting. She found a hole which was very obviously used as someones home, as apparent by the scent. The tundra girl nosed into the hole, sniffing around obnoxiously and then let out a beastful whine when something had latched onto her nose. Upon retracting herself from the hole, she had seen little eyes peering at her. Oh, a fox hole! She growled lowly, but looked over towards the alarmed group of hers. She silently assured them she was fine and nobody even batted an eye after that. She looked into the hole, tail thumping against the earth. Oh how beautiful, a little fox family! There were two kits and a mother. The mother shrouded the kits protectively and stared annoyed at the Tokota. Engel did not want to bring any harm to the family and was instead just curious and viewing. I mean why not? It was interesting! Shes never been peacefully close to live prey critters that she usually hunted! David eyed her and walked over, petting her and viewing the hole. He smiled gently, "Oh that's precious." He commented before turning towards the pack. Better leave the family alone before someone starts raising a brow...
