One more thing, When I shut down and turn my computer on again, it switches back to the original cursor. Is this just me installing it wrong or something with my computer? Is it common?

This is typical, so you need not worry. I have not tried this myself, but I have heard that if you save the cursors in the computer's default "Cursors" folder that this will no longer occur. Personally, I just switch themes to reload the cursors when I log back on.

Click "Download File" at the top-right of the page and then extract the files from the ZIP. Once you have done that you can go into your control panel to apply them.
