Nother OC, the 2nd Captain of Division 5, Shawna Kings. She and Scott are in the same noble family, the Kings Family, notable for recognizing spiritual pressure and hand-picking promising souls out of the districts to be a part of their family.

Her kosode is grey, which signifies she is a member/leader of the Scout Marksmen department of Division 5, which you can read about here- thebleachfanon.wikia.com/wiki/… . That thing on her back is a Dan Kinshin (Demon Shell), a sort of sniper rifle invented during the First Quincy War as an answer to Quincy bows. (It's basically a reishi rifle). All SM Shinigami learn how to use them, and treat them like a second Zanpakuto.

Shawna was born in the early Sengoku Period in Japan, but died when she was four and consequently barely remembers a thing about her human life. In the Rukon, she wandered the districts, unaware of the fact that her need for food was not shared by all souls. After a year a member of the Kings Family found her and brought her into the family, giving her her name and people who cared for her. She soon forgot she was adopted, and was raised right alongside the other Kings children.

When she came of age she took the Shino entrance exam and passed easily, after years of tutoring in the Kings mansion. Already a step ahead of most of her peers, Shawna graduated a year early, and her aptitude in kido got her recruited to the Kido Corps. However, she quickly grew bored of the more Seireitei based Corps, and transferred to the 13th Division, under Reuben Rockwell. When Reuben was exiled a few years later, she transferred to division 5 under Sosh Rostov, who was also exiled a few years after she joined. She would have transferred again, but she respected the former lieutenant, now-captain Tasunka Sota. At this time she also discovered and recruited Scott Kings to the family, and though they aren't blood related, they are now the closest siblings in the Kings Family (though that may have something to do with Shawna saving his life)

She steadily rose through the ranks, surpassing expectations, and during her tenure as a third seat the Gotei was in the thick of the Second Quincy War. Shawna was caught in an ambush and severely injured, and this is when her Zanpakuto revealed itself to be an Aspect and saved her life by forming a contract- this is what changed her eyes, giving her unparalleled eyesight, which she used to snipe out a company of Quincies with kido to not only get back to friendly lines, but save a squad of Shinigami in the process.

During her recovery Shawna petitioned for a whole department (sub-division) of sniper-like shinigami, and Tasunka agreed wholeheartedly, and promoted her to lieutenant to head the new department.

She continued to head the team, even after her promotion to co-captain after the initial Shadow invasion.

Brief personality: A rather prideful shinigami, and unlike her brother doesn't have much in the way of empathy. She is much like how her family is; ambitious, hardworking, and values success over everything. She prefers to work alone, and hates forming professional relationships- Yolotli being a glaring exception. To Shawna, relationships are for fun, and work should be solitary. This attitude had caused her to seek a position in the Kido Corps in the first place, to get a more solitary and quiet position. At work, she is all business, and can be abrasive to work with. As soon as the uniform comes off, she is quite extroverted and talkative, and is quite fun to be around- Just don't ask her about work. She has perfected the art of compartmentalization. She drives her division hard, and is known to have the most paperwork in the seireitei due to the large number of demotions and transfers she causes. Her persona mantra (well, one of them) is 'high expectations save lives'
