Description
Bursts of fire illuminate the drifting, acrid veils of smoke from within. Echoes of concussive blasts call to each other. Ground zero is Hell on Earth.Fireworks over Niagara Falls. Long exposure shot handheld for the layered look. I had started shooting these in JPG, which I reserve for the snapshotest of snapshots. But I actually started liking the results of the photos, so I switched into RAW mode to get better quality and cleaner images. I loves digital.

I took some long exposure firework shots like this myself, actually submitted one too, but never thought to have some human life in it too. Really adds allot to it. Makes me think of a beautiful hell.
Clean and highly original shot. Love it.

More than the beautiful fireworks I love the smooky blurred crowd being involved, I love how mysterious things can look on bonfire and firework nights due to all the mist and smoke from the fire and fireworks. I have a mad neighbour who when anything remotely good happens in their lives have fireworks at 12pm at night to celebrate .. they are obviously super rich though they are a pain due to be woken up by fireworks
Anyway, I adore the colours, and everything about this. I even like your copyright notice, I like it every time and never mention it except for right now, its a simple easy to read presentation and rather stylish too

oh my, that would be annoying with the fireworks. i'm surprised there's not some kind of law to prevent it!

I love the different ways you caught balance in this shot. Nice transition from hot to cool tones, great capture of motion, soft feel, atmospheric perspective. The setting is hardly able to tell at first glance. The people made me think that I was looking at a shot from a dance club, until I saw the large bursts of fireworks.
Very cool.

damn you're good
i love the details on the edges of the fireworks display and the power and energy of it is obvious - you captured the in it you know? i also think the audience and how they're depicted in a bit of blur and movement really adds to being there feel -

this is absolutely remarkable.
you capture clarity with the life and firework formations, yet darkness and profiles define the main area of the image to provide for two unique, yet non-conflicting pieces of eye candy.

The handheld long-exposure was a good idea to capture this moment! I particularly like the diffused silhouettes on the lower section of the photo, kind of lost under that sky. Well accomplished!

Niagara Falls is great.
Their fireworks are ok - seen them a few times.
This is an excellent shot.
I like how the midst/fog/humidity is rolling underneat the fireworks that just exploded into something so beautiful and amazing.

The fireworks over the falls have got to be the most beautiful fireworks ever.... 4th of july aint as good as them...
this photo is beautiful, the smoke gives the impression of being dreamlike, and of having captured the full attention of the spectators...
very nice...
