The excitement at the Swedish Warmblood auction was invigorating. Having arrived early to get a preview of the horses before hand, Olivia was walking down the isle of the auction barn, pausing at each stall to take in the beauty of each animal. Most of them were casually grazing on hay without a care in the world concerning the extra activity that was going on around them while a few were wide eyes and flaring nostrils at all the unfamiliar noises that surrounded them.

Olivia paused and offered her palm to a particularly attractive brown sabino stallion. He paused, mid chew, and pressed his slobbery wet lips to her hand for a lick before continuing with his snack. She smiled, but continued down the line. It has been a long search for the perfect mount and she was looking for one that was even a little bit in the person standing on the other side of the door-her.

With $10,000 sitting in her bank account, Olivia knew just how she would spend it. After all, buying her dream horse would be the perfect way to waste away all that money. Her father had dumped the money in her account with a polite and short happy graduation email to her 4 months prior. Olivia expected something grand from her wealthy father on the day of her high school graduation, like actually showing up to her graduation, but when he didn't she threw the disappointment in the box with all the other lets downs she's experienced from him over the years. At first, the appearance of the money was a shock, Olivia couldn't imagen how someone had that much cash just laying around to just drop in an 18 year olds lap. It would have been another matter if she had cared anything for her father, she would have understood the gesture as a matter of affection and maybe love, but without having seen him in 12 years, well, it was just insulting. "Here's 10 grand-have fun kid!" is the line her mind played for her. At least he had the balls to send the email with it. Her shock turned to anger, but it was short lived. Slowly, Olivia realized what this could mean for her.

Her father had left her with her Grandmother when she was 6. Their lives together was modest but comfortable, Olivia never went without the necessities but she did sometimes have to turn away from things she wanted. Like riding lessons and a horse of her own. Once she was a sophomore, she had the opportunity to work at a local stable that allowed her work for lessons. She'd get up early Monday through Friday at 6 to help the stables staff do morning chores and after school on Friday she was allowed to come back and take her lesson. Olivia was always given the worst schooling horse since she didn't actually pay for her lesson but she didn't mind. It was a horse, and this was what she had always wanted.

For 3 years she took lessons and for 3 years she endured the pain of watching beautiful horses being bought and sold from the barn. She watched good horses go to crappy owners and good horses go to good owners but no matter who the sale was too, Olivia always felt the longing to experience it herself. Finally, she would make her own dreams come true.

Olivia's ultimate goal was to travel to the States and attend a University there in a riding program. But for the time being, she had enrolled in a local community college to have her money for her first 2 years in college. She knew she should save that 10k and use it towards her schooling, that would be the adult thing to do. But there were always student loans for that. Besides, it's not every day your father tries to make your dreams come true.

The auction time was coming close and Olivia knew she should go take her seat. But there were a few more stalls she hadn't checked so she decided to take a few minutes and hurry by them, glancing in as she passed. Fast walking to the end Olivia was about to turn for the arena when the horse in the last stall made her stop dead. A flea bitten mare stood dozing in her stall, hind leg cocked in rest position. Olivia had never seen a mare so heavily pregnant. Her huge belly looked like such a weight to carry. She smiled to herself while watching the mare snooze, her face so soft and sweet looking. Olivia clicked her tongue softly at her, just to see if the mare would respond. She did, her ears pricked forward and her head casually came up. The mare looked at Olivia for a few long seconds before she righted her hind leg and calmly walked over, hanging her head over the door to sniff her visitor. Olivia stroked her of cheek and all over her face, reveling in the horses affectionate nature. She scratched down her neck, under her forelock, under her jaw and then kissed the tip of her nose. The gray mare seemed to enjoy every second of the attention. Her large sleepy brown eyes showing nothing but contentment and happiness.

"Oh my god," Olivia breathed to herself. Instantly she felt her heart swell inside her and knew that this mare was going to be it. The mares ears swiveled at the sound of Olivia's voice and she raised her head to blow hot air in her face. Olivia smiled, touching her forehead to the mares soft nose. "Oh my, this is going to hurt like hell if it doesn't work out."

Sorry-longish story and I'm sorry for any mistakes, I will come back later tonight to proof read. And, very sorry commissioners for taking a break from commissions to do this entry. I have just had this horse on my mind for a while and like Olivia, fell in love with her and I had to try for her. I know time is tight right now with me doing commissions, so I really don't know what I'm doing getting another horse but I will make it work.

And I hope she looks pregnant enough. lol I didn't want to just make her look fat, I was trying to do the round belly but still elegant look.

Build: Medium. Somewhat square, but noble and elegant. Expressive head, long neck, well developed wither, somewhat short back and a well formed croup. Good legs, correct movements. Good, active walk with good energy. Light, well paced trot with good hindlegmovements, but somewhat tense (on auction day) in her back, good rythmic gallop. Overall a chipper mare with a nice 'Schwedengang'.
About this horse: Mamy is a lapdog in horseshape. She adores a good scratch and will lean into you for more. She is best friend with the barn cats and you can be sure to at least find one resting on her back at all times. When riding each one starts with she sneezes once or twice, why we don’t know - she is not sick. Sometimes when she is bored and especially now when she is pregnant she can lick the box walls or the pole to where she is tied. Perhaps its some pregnant mare quirk or just her, she have gotten all the extra feed she needs and have been checked by our vet that gave her a clean bill of health. She respects her handler and loves old bread as treats. In the pasture she is the protective one and she don’t mind caring for other mares foals. The perfect nurse mare if that would happen. If you should compete her after she had her foal please be aware that she is terrified about anything that make weird crackle noises like cellophane (like the kind that can be around bouquets of flowers) other than that she is a good show horse. She is the dam of IMPORT #10 (Goliath)
