Whee whee whee I'm making a kitty character on Oak Hills.(and you're seeing her here first!
)EDIT: Oak Hills is now Mushroom Grove. go check it out!
This is Cari. She's a baby right now, and a Turkish Van kitty (which are LOVE, by the way), and true to the nature of her breed she's really active and curious and friendly and playful... and she loves water and swimming! Her name means 'flowing like water' in Turkish, supposedly, and I thought it suited her, both her bubbly nature and the fact that she's a 'swimming cat'.
I decided it might make an interesting dynamic for Wings to have to put up with a kitten, so she's going to be his little sister
hee. People have said that Turkish Vans are more like dogs than cats, and also that sighthounds are more like cats than dogs, so the contrast was too good for me to pass up.

Cari... doesn't mean flowing like water :\ Or it must be from and older Turkish language, but when you talk abou modern Turkish language, Cari doesn't mean anything at all.

That's really, really good! The only thing though, is I think Turkish Vans' markings are restrained to their head and tail.

I researched the breed before I created Cari, and small spots of colour elsewhere on their bodies are allowed.

Yeah, that's what confused me...the Forum is not allowing me to become a member for some reason.....it says that I'm already logged in, and then when I try and Logout, it doesn't fo anything....*Sighs* it's alright though. LOL.. the trick is to draw the heads bigger. Babies of any (land-dwelling, mammalian) species have proportionally bigger heads, it's what looks 'cute' to us :3

Gorgeous as usual tho her eyes remind me of a siamese (did I write it all wrong?) rather than of a van. Vans ARE LOVE, you are right... Pure love and tenderness :3 And this baby is sweet yet tricky

I had a turkish van/ calico mix, she was very beautiful with the perfect tan/brown markings on her head/ tail. Sadly I got her from the pound and her previous owners abused her so she was a very skittish kitty, when you touched her she was always very nervous so it was hard to be social with her, she ended up not liking it, unless it was bed time when everyone was laying down, then she would want to be on top of you lol, but since she was mostly scaredy cat, we called her skits.. but shes gone now, when i moved to a bigger home she got outside one night into coyote land and she lost her way or something, coyote got a hold of my pretty baby, sad story but i think of it as she had a rough life, was always hiding and scared of everything, her passing might have released all that pain that she hid away beneath her golden eyes.

D: I hate it when people abuse animals and ruin them. I'm sorry to hear about her, but am glad that she doesn't have to suffer now. Psychological trauma must have been pretty hard to live with

Is this your first kitten character? I love the idea of having a character with two different colored eyes. I knew an old husky whose eyes were like that. He would come to our house cause his owner was never home and we'd feed him bread
