Description
The Silver Brumby is one of my favourite book series about horses (although I don't blame you if you've never heard of them) so of course I had to draw fanart! I love how this lot of headshots came out

oh wow, this picture is OLD. xD! I haven't drawn SB fanart in years. I remember Choopa and Dandaloo though. <3 maybe after I reread the books I'll get into drawing the characters again.

i watched the movie when i was real young, and loved it. i never knew there was a book series! have to remember to look that up. let along an animated series, must find that. great job by the way

Both the books and animated series are difficult to find outside of Australia. I've only seen a bit of the tv series when I was a wee one, and loved it; though it's obviously geared toward kids, it's still lovely in its own way. I do love the book series very much though, I think the second, Silver Brumby's Daughter, is my favourite. I've drawn much more fanart for Silver Brumby further forward in my gallery. xD

Actually I never got to see very much of the series. The series only covers the first book pretty much. The books are much more extensive with a lot more characters over several generations, and I thouroughly enjoyed them.

XD when i was in year 3 or 4 when i was little we used to act it out on the fields at school ...i was thowra , libby was boon boon um rhiana was sometimes the man and any boy was the brulga

I remember only a bit about the series, but in spanish their names were different ... who is boon boon? And bel bel? Is identic as Thowra (about that, what does that mean? In spanish his name was Viento, "Wind")

Er.. since I've never seen the Spanish version, I don't know what their names were in that. Boon Boon is Thowra's first mare and the wisest one, and Bel Bel is Thowra's mother. And 'Thowra' does mean 'wind' in the Aboriginal tongue, so I suppose that's it.

I've only seen very little of the animated series, but I did like it. Deviated quite a bit from the books but the animation and char designs really made up for it
I want to draw some of the other chars from the books sometime... heh.

That book was made into a cartoon series, shown in the uk a few years ago, with the same characters. It was set in australia (duh, cos Brumbies are australian no?).
I enjoyed the animated series, and i may well keep an eye out for the books.
