Second batch of dogbreed icons up, whee yay. this time it's the ever-beloved Herding Group. ^^I put in breednames this time because people kept guessing and asking if they were right on the last one. These aren't random breed sheets and all the breeds are very easy to find by going to the AKC website and clicking on the group du jour (or for that matter by clicking the link that takes you to the icons xD). and I know I said only AKC-registered breeds, but I couldn't not put in the Laekenois. The Belgian Shepherds are like.. an inseparable quartet. or something. o.o;

*laughs* no no, no reason to be sorry. I was just commenting, I can't help it. I'm terribly fond of working border collies and I was actually part of the wave trying to keep them Out of the akc for fear that they'd do exactly what they've done. They've set them up as a seperate breed with the same name. Much like they've done with the german shepherd in this country(US) it's a shame. I'll get off my soap box now... and seriously don't feel sorry. Wonderful artwork.

It's good for me to know these things. 'My' breeds (whippets, IGs etc.) never really had this issue that I know of, and I've definitely heard about it from other people that do fancy working breeds.

nope sighthounds don't have Quite the same problem (excepting maybe greyhounds) I'm a Borzoi fan myself... and deerhound to a slightly lesser extent. I plan to own one someday just because I love their temperments, not to mention looks. I have a few friends that own them, they take them hacking with their horses. The problem I have with the border collies is the working breed doesn't Have a breed standard in looks, they have one in how they're suposed to work. It's what makes them border collies *shrugs*.

Yay! my favorite group! i love the smooth collie, the aussie, the bc, and the belgian tevuren. but you forgot the newest member of the akc herding group, the sweedish vallhund. they are like corgis only not as fat and they are gray. Google them! this is really cool by the way. i love all the colors. i have two australian shepeherds, i have their pictures in my gallery. check them out!

I didn't 'forget'. It's possible that at that point the Vallhund wasn't a member of the Herding Group, yet. I did draw this last year, after all. I've seen them before and they are lovely dogs.

I got him from the pound. Lol. He was six and his name was Cory D: How lame. Lol. Cory the Corgi...I loved him lots. Had to put him down he was old and having trouble.
Nice dogs, but sneaky >>; He would run away any chance he got. Lol. The other Corgi I had was a CardiganX, he snuck out at night and was back in the morning. Had to put him down too, his sneaky ways lead him to anti-freeze.

please, I need people to stop 'reminding' me to include blahblah breed. the only breeds that I am leaving out (with exceptions) are those that are not registered with the AKC. as I do the headshots I am referencing off the AKC Group list of breeds so as not to leave any out. I will be taking requests for rare breeds afterwards.
I'm working on the non-sporting breeds right now, the hounds are last because they are my favourites. you can be sure I won't leave any breeds out of THAT group.
