Fwee, I have nothing of note to upload right now, so have some rough test backgrounds for my thesis film that I'll be working on this year. It was a bit of an effort at first, since y'all know I'd much rather be drawing characters any day, but I sort of got into the swing after a while, and I'm quite pleased with these on the whole considering I don't normally do this kind of thing.The whole bottom row was done with one of my school's new cintiqs - at the moment I'm still in the process of getting used to them, but hey, it's cool. They've also got Sketchbook Pro newly installed on all of them which I am excited to try out.
fwee. Last bottom right is sort of crappy because I rushed it, but I was just trying to get my ideas out and it won't look so rough in the final. :3Feedback would be appreciated, especially from people with more experience doing backgrounds/layouts etc.!

I think the sky would look well darker too, or more accurate a deeper blue... would look kinda nice.

That's are absolutely lovely Swifters! Just from those 'rough' frames I was sucked into the jungle atmosphere! I want to see more! I want to see the characters who live there!!! I must admit that my favorite is the second one in the last row. It's truly a great perspective, looking down from the canopy! Is that a dinosaur like character in its center?

Eeee, thanks Miti. :3 That makes me happy to hear. I'll have to draw the characters in a presentable way and put them up here, though I'm tempted to keep it under wraps for a while longer! I was happy with that one too, I don't normally do dramatic angles like that so it was fun.
That's my pangolin character! I suppose you could say they are sort of dino like from the angle I drew her.

Your welcome! Oh, I know what a pangolin is!!! It's just difficult to tell i suppose due to the extreme angle and "sketchiness." Of course you don't have to present the characters... after all a little suspense never hurt anyone. I do look forward to seeing them when you do decide to unveil them though.

Yeah, they are. I think I'm too used to tablets, because I'm not all that excited about it and people keep rearranging the heavy monitor because everyone draws with it in a different position. xDD! Still, they're fun to use!
Hey dear, it's okay, no rush. I had to order a new small tablet because mine died and I kind of need one, and it comes with some copy of Photoshop. I also won't actually be colouring until I finish animating everything, which will probably be second sem. I'll be home for Christmas, you can give me the stuff then.

Yeah, I know! They're pretty awesome so far. We were pleasantly surprised when my school did it, we've just had tablets and such for past years. I'm admittedly not as excited as some of my friends about this whole development. xD

AT LEAST YOU HAVE THEM ALL DRAWN. geez. I'm pretty sure I want to digitally paint all of mine, since I fail at real media painting. (I'm working on it.) though I'll be handdrawing everything and just cleaning it up and using the pencil lines rather than inking. Saves me inking time and I like pencil lines batter anyway.

I think that's the route I'm going to go too, except for all my drawings have hardcore perspective lines that will probably look super lame if I keep the pencil lines. But yeah, I'm kind of going (at the moment) with that loose, painterly thing. Unless I can recruit some slave labourers who do a better colouring job than me, because it's really not my forte. Nevermind that I decided half my film is going to be in black and white anyway

LAWL, I'm not sure. I kind of want to reduce mess and all. I suppose I could use Copic or something on them... that might be nice. See, I'm just not even suuuuuuuuure o.O I have a few choice people I know are awesome at life that I'll probably at least hand off animation for colouring. *coughs at and * Though today it looks like I'ma start aneemooting O____O!!!
