Description culmination of boredom, silliness and homesickness. I like this, makes me feel soothed and giggle a bit. -lion out of water- o.O I know that I originally gave the Merlion a seahorse-fin, but I took that away. felt like I should stay true to the original design. :B

I want to design other Merlions based on different fishes now, heehee. And I still want to go home.

hey, i used to have a drawing which is very similar to yours when i was in Primary school, it was a competition and it was abt Kindness or something..

but mine was the merlion and fish smiling. to show their friendship & kindness.

Sorry if I sound so shocked. Just I never though I'd see one of my country's greatest symbols here in DA, drawn by a very good artist at that. I should have expected that...and yet I didn't.. Hee-heh...

I have to admit, that was mainly photoshop's doing. I used the gradient tool to get the dark-to-light and then put it through one of the artistic filters.. then set the opacity on the characters to lower so that they'd pick up the tint from the water. so yeah, can't take too much credit from that

LOL, sorry, I honestly don't think that water effect is special enough to warrant it's own tutorial it's all photoshop tricks. but if you've got AIM or MSN, perhaps I could walk you through it? which program do you use anyway? because I only know photoshop..

He's the icon of the Tourism Board, yes. Singapore means Lion City and our original name Temasek meant Sea Town, so I think that's the symbolism for you :3
