I've actually been struggling myself for a while, but I'm just not giving up because I remember what it was like for me before. I went through a serious period of depression for about half of last year, and it really helped deepen my relationship with God. Right now I'm pretty much alright, but because of that I tend to take it all for granted. It's why I'm glad for opportunities like the retreat I was talking about, where I can just get away from school and take a while to focus on and rexamine my faith. It works wonders.
I hope your struggle works out.

Oh, so it was only a weekand? Haha! Sorry, my bad! Yeah, I met a guy at a Week-Long Youth camp thing called EFY. But we did so many things together with our one group that it felt like we had know eachother forever! It was really neat, it was there that I truly relized that I am a Daughter of God and that I don't have to be afraid of what others think of me. " It dosn't matter what the world believes, or what they say that beauty means, it comes from within, I wanna be beautiful to Him" Lyrics to a song we heard there. It was very touching. ^_~ Anyway, now that I know who the picture really is, I love it even more. Yeah, stopping being afraid of what others think of you is definitely a hard thing to do - it's something I face all the time here. Back home I'm used to everybody just being accepting of whatever anyone believes, so coming to art school in NYC of all places was a huge culture shock xDDD artschool kids in general think they're all radical and different and they're much more focused on their individual selves. They don't want to believe in or pledge faith to a God, and if you do, they seem to see it as a sign of weakness. -shrugs- but oh well, if I look on it as a test, it's that much easier to deal with

Thank you Moondoggie! I'm glad I got the comforting part across, was what I was going for and after the Narnia books, I can't really see Him as anything but. The Father is supposed to be all strong and mighty and protector, I guess anyway.

yupperoo, I read the Chronicals of Narnia. I thought it was a fanart of Aslan, but I guess not. I thought He was weird as a lion then and still do, but I still love this peice.

That's odd, because I thought the lion suited Him perfectly - He is called the Lion of Judah, no? and anyway, it was made obvious that the Lion is just the form He takes in Narnia, and that He's perfectly capable of taking other forms.

It's not really fanart of Aslan as such, because if it were I'd have drawn something Narnia-related. I guess when it comes to the Father, the protector and the almighty one, I really can't think of anything but the lion to fit xD
