Description Day 15 of my Sprite Advent Calendar.

It's not often that I make sprites of diesels, but here's one for you to enjoy anyway. The Class 37 is one of the most long lived diesels on British Rail history, outlasting the nationalized system in regular service by private operators. The first 42 were built in 1959, and the class totaled 309 members when production ended in 1965. Like most diesels, they were used for mixed traffic. They were especially common in the Western, London Midland, and Scottish Regions, replacing steam engines on a variety of services. As of this year, there are 67 Class 37s still in revenue service on the national rail network and another 35 preserved on heritage railways in various conditions, and one is used as a donor for the construction of a Class 23 replica project.

Not making any promises, but I hope to eventually, and maybe a Deltic at some point, too.
