Description
The RX-78GV01 was an offshot design created during the Gundam Development Project of 0083. Designed to function as a fire-support unit, it was equipped with a powerful shell-firing cannon backpack and a twin-Gatling gun pod installed behind a standard Gundam shield. However, the Gundam GV "Oberon," as it was codenamed, never left paper. Ultimately, only the mainline GP series units would see production. This is a unique one for me. A little while ago I discovered that the Macs in the college library have Photoshop. This is the first unit I've constructed on a Mac. I'm not used to the system -- I'll probably stick to my Windows-based PS at home. XP

Despite a lack of watching, I still think gundums are neat.
Looks cool! ^_^ b

Love the gatling cannons on the shield but i would have liked him to have held on form of handgun or another. Maybe i just like Gundams with a lot of weapons. Kaempfer rocks my sox.

I did a recolor of the Kampfer on here, not sure if you saw it. I think the main thing going for this model is versatility. It has the shield, but it could alternately be equipped with a rifle from a GM or another Gundam. The shield is just one type of weapon it can use.
Thanks for all your comments. It's nice to talk tech occaisionally.

I did see that kaempfer i liked the white it was a definite change from most other gundams, most of them have a white blue red gold scheme, does get kind of lame.
By the way is that the same kind of cannon featured on a guncannon?

Yeah. Luckily the Kampfer's not a Gundam though, so it doesn't have to worry about that.
(The term "Gundam" only applies to suits actually named "Gundam." Remember, all Gundams are mobile suits, but not all Mobile Suits are Gundams.)
The cannon on the back is from the FA-78-1 Full Armor Gundam. Similar mechanism to the Guncannonthough.

Indeed, I find myself correcting people on that exact same thing far too often. I really can't stand any of the gundams, save for the RX-78-4, and the RX-78-5. I'M personally a hardcore Zeon fan, and Zeonic design is far better to look at than the Federal forces. On a side note...I like monoeyes alot as well, give a gundam a monoeye, and keep it looking good, and maybe I'll like gundams more.

There was a title in Japan called "Monoeye Gundams" -- I think it was a video game. There were lots of new deigns made for it.
I like the Zeon-style designs better than the Federation-style, but there are some Gundams and Fed-style MS I do like. Designs like the Zeta line, including the Zeta Pluses and Re-GZ are really neat looking to me.
