Description User test of Project Cryptid 2.0 Alpha, Layout 1, The Classification Group

Test for purposes of user feedback, this is one of the three ideas for the new direction Project Cryptid would take, the other two being an interactive Flash file and something else I can't recall at this moment so it must not have been a very interesting idea. The layout mimics a group image with a fore- and background, tested here with the "outsiders" of cryptidom, those beings whose origins, appearances, abilities, or very nature seem to exist beyond the natural realm.

I like this option, though issues with cryptids of multiple classifications (like the Mothman, a flier/outsider, or the Tatzelwurm, an outsider/U.Mammel/U.Herptile) are sure to arise. This'll either get the or , depending on reaction and opinion.

An entire Project Cryptid in this design would probably get jumbled very quickly and be a couple of feet wide

Three owls, a windstorm, and a sick dog.

The "scared of owls" cryptids are my favorites, because I, too, am terrified of owls. The others are all equally weird. Like the Enfield Horror... if I was a conspiracy theorist I would be scared shitless of what that guy means.

This isn't the place to tell you I'm sure, but the berkley horror looks a little too much like an octopus to me. Something more Shoggoth-y might look better.

Also, I rather think Fear Liath belongs here.
As a format, this looks cluttered and covers some of the creatures, but I like the categorizing idea. Although it looks like I'm a little late for that to mean anything to you.

The format is quite cluttered, the fact that this was the only one I tried might be telling Still working on other formats, so the work continues.

The problem with Shoggoths is you never know how to draw them because they can have any configuration. Damn shoggies.
